Does not reflect my experience so far at all.nd87 said:Run away from this product. It’s fundamentally broken. You can’t withdraw funds except for £750 per day. There is no guarantee that you will be able to sign up for the biometrics function on the app that allows you to make larger payments. Despite what the product information states, you cannot make payment via telephone banking, and you can’t use the website unless you request a card reader and card to use with it. Which can’t be requested until after the account is set up. You also can’t transact at any other NatWest or RBS branch, only physical Ulster Bank branches in Northern Ireland. You can’t even close the account to get your money back as they can only send the money to another Ulster Bank account. The mind boggles. It is truly the worst, most kafkaesque experience I have ever had with a financial firm.
App works fine, was able to register for biometrics after 3 days and then move the sliders to £20,000.
Not really bothered about transacting via the web page but just might get a card and reader to give me that option.1 -
Presumably you knew all of this before you applied because all of these limitations are made quite clear, and most are irrelevant if one waits a few days to get the card reader to enable lager payments (or use the app).nd87 said:Run away from this product. Works well for me. Easy the deposit and withdraw. Like mon3ysav3r I have opened current account as back up and if works well. Would recommend0

I had limitations of £750 initially but having logged into anytime Internet banking on a web browser and then made a payment to my bank account with Santander I was able then to activate the face and voice biometrics on the app on my phone. Once those were setup I could then up the limit to 20k.0

Another happy ulster user here, 20k per day on app. Best thing transfers are instant so I can keep next to nothing in another banks current account.1

Same here. Never had any problems with Ulster. I had an issue related to limitations, my own fault because I didn't read t&c properly, but that was resolved by calling them and I was able to withdraw £20k on that day.poolboy said:Another happy ulster user here, 20k per day on app. Best thing transfers are instant so I can keep next to nothing in another banks current account.
Limited Saver and similar accounts are very convenient for extensive use. The only downside is tired interest, so not great if you can't commit £5k to sit there all the time.0 -
Ulster Bank
Got to say that I’ve had an Ulster bank account in the past and never had any problems. The key is to have a card reader to set up parameters.0 -
It was a while ago. I bank with NatWest anyway and have held Ulster and RBS accounts. I have biometrics set up on my NW app ok, but I know I couldn’t set it up on the RBS app because I hadn’t held the account long enough (that’s what the app told me anyway when I did attempt it). I cannot remember about Ulster as I used card readers anyway.friolento said:UKX69 said:Ulster Bank

If you have the app, you never need the card reader.0 -
