Well, not getting off to the best of starts. Wednesday was a nsd but that’s it so far. In terms of optimism, I’m hoping to source someone to repair my now leaking roof, thanks storm Amy. NSD # 1 for me today - better late than never !OH and I had flu jabs this morning. Feeling a bit rough now, though they don't usually affect me. I have been offered a covid jab too, as I have a blood condition that is supposed to lower my immunity (not sure if it does tbh) but still thinking about that, as they usually make me really poorly.Took some HM soup and bread round to DD2's after out jabs, shared it with them for lunch. Also took some cakes as the children always look for them.I have steak, kidney, mushroom and onion pie filling in the SC (for tomorrow's dinner, and some for the freezer) but we will have jacket potato and salad tonight.Windy and horrible here. A tree has blown down in the park along the road. OH had to weight down the new greenhouse roof to avoid it being damaged. Of course I am sure it is far worse where @Thrifty_Taylor lives!Grateful today for spending time with DD and the grandchildren

Good evening all. It’s been a bit of a crazy week although I think I say that more than ever recently! I managed a no spend day on Thursday but haven’t managed any other nsds.I’m extremely grateful for strictly tonight. Storm Amy is causing mayhem and sitting watching strictly with a blanket and some unhealthy snacks is making me feel so much better. Hope the storm is not being a pain to anyone. The weekends are flying by.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #827

A quiet day indoors for me. Outside was wild and windy. Sleeping and at times just breathing, slowly and carefully. Did another small food order. I've eaten the last bowl of stew, 2 wraps with grated cheese (spread vegan mayo very thinly to keep the cheese on the wrap) and red onion, tin of baked beans, ice cream with defrosted berries (all in the house already but felt the options for tomorrow were limited). So 2 spend days and 2 NSDs.
I'd told Mrs Builder not to come as I think this is COVID and didn't want her passing it to the shop customers or her grandsons.
I have done most of the washing up - mainly bowls. A couple have stuff that needs scraping out before they are washed but I have plenty to use tomorrow. Think I can manage simple household chores a little bit at a time.
Watched a film I've seen before - still only watching easy to follow stuff. Going to have my evening meds and settle down with my book.
Grateful for resting, easy food, snuggling in my nest.

Staying on NSD 1/15 today. Grocery delivery arrived, and I also bought a collapsible water pouch and some winter boots for DS.
We went to OH’s parents’ for lunch before heading off to a football match. I was very cosy thanks to my battery-powered body warmer – a very appreciated gift from OH.
Dinner was OH’s homemade pizza, which I enjoyed with a couple of glasses of the lovely wine I treated myself to yesterday.
Grateful today for our team’s win, for OH’s dad suggesting we scale back festive spending this year (I’ll chat with my own parents too and see if we can ease the self-imposed pressure), and for escaping storm damage this time.

Talking of Christmas spending I have spoken to a good friend about no presents and she has agreed. Also spoken to a group of friends via WA and said no presents this year and 3 have agreed out of 5. So very pleased with that. No lunar eclipsing from my bare cheeks thankfully! The elastic is still intact 🤣
A better day at work yesterday. Had listened to the local radio station & looked on FB to see if local schools were closed - unfortunately they weren't, so I had to go in 😂 All buses were cancelled from 5pm, so DS3 had to leave college at lunchtime to get a bus home, as the only other one directly home goes at 5.30.
Dashed to town after work, got stuck behind a slow driver & then a load all. Collected mum, then went for our tattoos. Mum told me she'd had a painkiller tablet beforehand, it made me laugh. Her first tattoo at 68, said it was a special one in memory of DS1, but she won't be having another one! I was charged £20 less than quoted, so paid for most of the Chinese takeaway I was treating us to.
Went to a friend's for a long overdue Wool Club, though I made 2 more baubles instead of knitting. Had a great catch up though. Stayed the night at mum's.
Mum lives close to the sea, the spray going onto the road was huge at times! Went food shopping, luckily they had plenty on the shelves. Dropped a bag of sewing off & collected another 6!! Watched more of a series with mum & knitted, had leftover Chinese, then drive carefully home.
Altered the last 4 items in a bag full for a customer, did the ironing, the after tea watched TV with DH & did more knitting.
Grateful for a great evening last night, getting home safely, my new tattoo & DH lighting the fire for the first time this autumn, so a cosy home 😍
Hugs to those feeling sore or poorly. Hope you feel a bit better in the morningUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
