:rotfl::rotfl:Wouldn't that be nice we are talking Ramada in Grantham right next to the A1. Might take my gym kit just in case.

Not going to be able to meet up with Danish friend from A-levels found again on Facebook as she is too busy. She is in the army and on a trip over here. I had hoped to meet her this morning but she has a 7am start and I am not going to drive 1 hour to get there. Never mind.

Hope to be able to post here later in the week if this Ramada has wifi.

Got here safely and the hotel is lovely. No BBC2 or Channel 5 but free internet access so that makes up for it. No mobile signal in the room so need to go and phone DH in a moment.

They had me down for £90 a night but when I queried it he said yes that is right £45 a night and corrected it. That includes breakfast total bargain for a 4 star.

Just been outside to phone DH. They have a cherry tree with totally lovely ripe cheeries on it. Just picked a load as I love then.

Had a really good meeting at work and it looks like the company is moving away from the "hard sell" feature to more tagetted approach which is help us the sales team and the wokers themselves. Should be good and will mean I shall enjoy my job a lot more.

Picked some more cherries they are just sooo nice. Had a salad for dinner with tuna steak but then had a cheesecake which was quite nice but I did not need it. Only managed 20 in the gym not it was really small and not very nice.

Afternooon, just come back from golf really windy. DH and I was on Ebay buying golf clubs. The idea is the buy 2 second hand sets we can leave in Denmark so in future we wont have to take clubs with us. At the moment BA don't charge but that is just a matter of time. Also my mum cannot pick us up from the airport in her Yaris if we take clubs and need to get her ill other half to do it which is not ideal.

DH lost out on the first set this afternoon but we have several we are looking at hoping to get each for about £100 to £150. I think that will be worth it.

    Morning all
Good news I have passed my lager challenge this week only 7 in total. Also scales says 82.9 so that is good. Morgage now £4500 so mega good news.

However buying golf clubs on Ebay not very good.

We looked at loads but 1 set really took my fancy. It has 3 woods, 1 putter a bag and a full set of irons all new. I was made about 2 years ago and he was selling it at £350. That is a bargin and ofcourse if things are too good to be true you don't buy them do you? Well I emailed him asking if he could deliver before we go on holiday and he said he could. He had 100% feedback and loads of them. Listing was for 1 day only and he had loads of other clubs and many which were sold. Never sold any golfclubs so no feedback relating to that which I thought was a bit odd. I decided to buy them now using Paypal and 1 hour later I got an email from Ebay saying this:

    Dear xxx (my name etc)

We're writing to let you know that the listing for the following item you bid on has been removed:

290332180930 - CALLAWAY X20 FULL CLUB SET WITH BAG AND PUTTER

We strongly recommend that you do not complete this purchase. Purchases of items listed on eBay but then completed outside of eBay are extremely risky. They are not covered by eBay buyer protection programs and are highly susceptible to fraud.

***If You Have Already Paid Using PayPal***

If you have already paid for this item but have not received it, please remember these important steps:

    • A buyer has 45 days after the date of the payment to open a dispute.

    • A dispute can be escalated to a claim within 20 days from when the dispute was filed.

    • Buyers must wait at least 10 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received.

    • If the dispute is not escalated to a claim within 20 days, PayPal will close the dispute. A closed dispute cannot be reopened or escalated to a PayPal claim.

    • When the 20-day deadline is approaching, PayPal will remind you by email and in the "Resolution Center."

You can learn more about the PayPal Dispute Resolution process by reviewing step-by-step tutorials in the Resolution Center after logging into PayPal.com.

I emailed the seller to say I was concerend and he replied this immidiately:

    Hi
My selling limits have been reached on ebay. I can,t get in touch with them until tomorrow to have them increased. Please be reassured your item will be shipped. Please dont put a claim with paypal as that will further affect things. You have my personal email now for contact until i can get in touch with ebay.
    Thanks

I did speak to Paypal and they said I am covered if I don't get them.

Well what do you think? Is this a scam? Will I get anything or will I get something that is a fake?

Stupid me really I did feel the alarm bells ringing but I still did it.:mad::mad:

    Sorry for the long post.

We all love a bargain, especially here!

You've stayed within the operating requirements of e-Bay so as far as I can see you are covered - much better than a car boot

There may just, be a reason (did he remove it once his stock was sold...) which has then caused the system to automatically react. Afterall, it is the item not the seller which is being highlighted to you.

Sit tight, but, don't do anything purchase wise outside of e-Bay - PayPal to ensure you are covered for compensation. Maybe wait until Tuesday evening to contact e-Bay?

    Hope it is ok.

Good news just had an email from Paypal with a full refund and a note from seller:

Hi Paypal have limited my account so i have refunded you

Phew what a lucky escape. I have been on the Ebay board on MSE and general concensus is that he was selling fake ones and that is why Ebay removed the listing. I did not want fake ones so now looking at 2nd hand ones but have to be really carefull. Quite a few up for sale and new ones about about £399 so will not go anywhere near that price. May just take my own set to Denmark and bring it back but leave DH's over there. I don't think there are many fake left handed sets so proably safer to buy.
