Afternoon, just come back from playing golf such lovely sunshine lets have some more of that. Went to the farm shop to get some strawberry's and resisted the temptation to buy cream as well. (To be honest they had sold out but I did not go anywhere else to get it).

Having bangers and new potatoes tonight and hope to sit outside and enjoy the evening. DH has already loaded the Chimera so we wont be cold. Nearly sorted the house out ready for mum to arrive Wednesday. Also spent £30 in Homebase on pet and weed control as well as some nice plants for a few pots out the front. Don't want loads of bedding plants this year as they need a lot of water but a few is nice too.

Slugs are eating my potato leaves so will be interesting to see if they have got at the potatoes too. I hope not want to have some left over to serve to my mum.

Re the hot chocolate I use milk and Green & Black Organic stuff so not low fat really. Also had two small glasses of Rose last night but no lager. Might have a bit tonight too. The 3 for £10 from Asda is lovely. Off to look up the calorie content now to update my signature.

So that was that week and the weight stayed the same but I have not been that good. Went over my allowance by 1 glass of wine if we say lager and rose is the same.

Just had my computer looked at by BT had some program which would not shut down but all fixed how. Also speeded it up a lot. Off to have some lunch how and then some more phone calls.

Bodybalance was cancelled this morning so going to the gym at 5pm instead.

Chilling out now but want to deep clean the bathroom as cleaner only does the basic really. Need to be shinny and nice for mum as she has not seen them yet.
You mean she'll be looking extra closely?
Stuart re soft drinks I agree they are quite sweet. I like grapefruit juice and soda when out as it look nice and taste lovely. At home I drink a lot of water, diluted fruit juice and tea or hot chocolate. If you google your favorite tipple you should find the cals content.
In the morning Tea by the mug then good strong filter coffee through the morning, once home at least four mugs of tea but I like a long drink later. not sure I want to know the calorie content, that may just add to my feeling of guilt when I have a beer :o:o:o

I think this diary is turning into a diet book instead which although helpful must be quite boring. I don't think you should have to feel guilty for having a beer or alcohol but I have benefited from cutting down. I used to have at least 1/2 bottle of wine each night and now I regularly have just fruit juice or water and then the odd beer. I find it easier to count beers than wine so I am going to stick with this for a while. Did not have a drink at all last night but never did make it to the gym. Did get house sorted and shopping done which is worthwhile. Will go tonight though.

Looking at booking a hotel at Terminal 5. We are flying at 7am and have suitcases and golfclubs to take. Cheap hotel is about £140 4 star is £194 incl parking which is a lot but parking on its own is £88 so not that bad really and we shall be staying on my birthday so might as well be nice. Will get cashback too about 6% I think. What do you guys think is that a lot of money?

Going to Bristol today but I am NOT going to stop at IKEA. I would like another Orchid pot as I have my old on in a normal pot and they don't like getting their roots in water. I was going to dump the old one when it had finished flowering but it has now got loads of new shoots with flowers on it. Very nice.

Starting to think about filling up ISA's not had any for years and years due to the offset mortgage. We will finish paying it off in December so have 3 payments of £1000 to put into one in this tax year. I was actually thinking of using some of the offset to fill two ISA's up this year and then take a bit longer to clear the mortgage. Will have to read the savings board as I have no idea what the limits are or the rates. I think they are pretty dire. Perhaps it is a bit premature but as DH is a higher rate taxpayer it should make sense.

Ups just bought one of these. To be fair I thought you got 3 in a packet but it is only 1. £20 is a lot for a garden light but I love them.

Glass jar, solar cell, battery and LED lights.
    100X100X160mm

Made with a traditional Mason jar and high tech energy efficient lighting! Captured inside the jar are a highly efficient solar cell, rechargeable battery and low energy LED lamps. When the jar is placed in sunlight the solar cell creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. This energy is then used at night to power the three LED lamps inside the jar.

The light is diffused by the frosted jar and give the appearance of sunlight emitting from the (warm coloured LED lights are used to give a more natural and warm light). You may have noticed that there is no switch on the sun jar - in fact there are no visible controls at all - there is a clever light sensor inside that automatically activates the lights when it gets dark or lights are turned out!* Mason Jars are not only beautiful but by their very nature they are completely water tight - so the Sun Jar can happily be left outside in any weather conditions. A perfect garden light or night light for a kids bedroom. *there is an override switch inside the lid to turn off the light at night and conserve battery life.

Sun Jars need DIRECT sunshine to work!
Leave the Sun Jar outside or in a sunny window
in DIRECT sunlight for several hours to charge,
(electric light indoors is not bright enough!).

Bad weather is bad news for Sun Jars!
You may find that in winter or cloudy weather your Sun Jar illuminates for less time than normal, or even not at all. This is because your Sun Jar require SUN to re-charge!
For improved results, leave the Sun Jar switched off (switch up) whilst charging. Simply switch it to the on position (switch down) when you would like it to glow. This conserves battery life and will leave it to illuminate when you need it to. If the weather has been particularly bad, as a last resort you can also charge the batteries in a normal battery charger!

Just told my mum about the SunJar she is already planning for me to bring them over in Summer to hers. I hope they are not too heavy. Shame they are so expensive though.

I've been looking at these on ipoints as a reward. They are 4800 points so I nearly have enough for two. You can collect ipoints without spending any pennies although I was lucky to get a few thousand when I signed up to a bookie.

Might be worth having a look?

No comment on food or drink!

Regarding the hotel at Heathrow, your flight is 0700hrs so I guess you need to be checking in at close to 0500hrs. Does the hotel do breakfast that early?

Parking costs plus one night's accommodation do seem to be competitive at the moment, but would a chauffeur be a similar cost and allow you to relax save car from damage at airport and upon return allow you both to relax? Also they have the stress of ensuring they get you there on time, if you allow them to set pick-up time.

For us the return run to Gatwick (about 110 miles each way) is about £200 and you get collected from arrivals and straight home without, say, 30mins delay to get to hotel and sign out car too. Just a thought.

Soooo nice my mum is here and I have a day off. Really nice to see her and she brought loads of Danish goodies with her. My Sunjar was delivered yesterday but as we were not home I need to go and fetch it from the post office. Not planning to do a lot today just pop into town and chill really.

Did go to IKEA yesterday total pain with the traffic but it only took me 1 hour incl having lunch. Got all I wanted a few extra things and the bill came to £13. Got some nice Jam jars similar to the SunJar but without the light. Useful for blackberry jam later on in the year.

Did have two beers yesterday but I have not seem my mum since Christmas.
