Yes it is a pain that he has lost the phone but I spoke to BA as I did not know if I could claim or not and they took the details and said they would send me an email and sort out compensation. That sounds a bit too good to be true but will wait and see when I get the email. DH should get his new Sim today and hopefully know if anyone has run up a big bill on his phone.

Rigth MB update, completed Sp*rtingbet now got my last free £25 and wager another £100 just so I could get the money out. Of course the bet won so my Betfair balance got even more depleated.

Had two bets on the football from Bet3*5 and they both won too. Did 3 bets on the horses yesterday so I now have a nice new £50 SNR bet to use. Actually I was a bit lucky as I bet on a horse on 1.61 and layed on 1.61 but Bet3*5 have this rule that if the starting price is higher than what you bet on and the horse win they pay out on the higher odds. Mine won and I got 1.72 instead of 1.61. Quite nice.

The £400 I took out of Bet3*5 on Monday is already in my account so have topped up Betfair ready to go for the next free £50.

Had another go at working out the profits and on one hand it looks like I have made £575 but totting up what I have in the bank, the 2 bookies and Betfair minus my inital layout I have only made £431 which must be right. It is really hard to keep track in particular when you have to keep turning the money over to have enough float in Betfair.

Need to do some work today I have a lunch meeting with my two managers on Friday could be trouble.

    Hi TG,

Mr SMF2 had his "expensive" suitcase smashed coming through Heathrow recently. A £200 Samsonite case (£100 TK Max!) - BA did send him a replacement but sadly a much inferior product - so don't hold your breath ( but obviously good luck anyway:D)

Thanks that is useful to know - wonder if they will send him 8 packets of cheap fags like the ones their thief swapped his B&H for :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes DH thinks they felt sorry for him and didn't want to leave him totally without fags.

    LOL:D.....weird:p
  • morning TG,
very interesting & very inspiring reading your thread !
I really admire your proactive approach to your finances....

I am 40 & have been struggling with the kids issue for a few years....
i miscarried 3 years ago & at the time i was really into having a baby.
However ,i seem to have lost the urge & as you say...enjoy my freedom, nice job,house...& probably could not afford one as im the main breadwinner etc

What really sticks in my mind is a comment from a very clever & inspiring friend of mine...(who decided not to have children )..is that at the time i was into having one i said i was 60% for & 40% against it....
She replied "well i,m not even 1% interested"
I keep thinking about this as its quite a good barometer ....

In the last 10 months i have acquired 3 beautiful kittens......its taken my mind off babies very nicely !
    Good luck xxx

I think that is a really nice way of thinking about it in terms of % I guess I am probably 80% against and 20% for will have to check with DH how he is with the %. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, a new workmate of mine was not actively planning to have children yet but found herself pregnant. She lost the baby very early on but it has spurred her and her partner on and they are now actively trying. She is 40 already so I think she needs to get a move one - somehow 37 doesn't feel quite that old.

I think cats make very good subsitute children, I love mine to bits.
