Just had to tell you I have finally booked our ferry to Denmark in the Summer have been holding it off for ages as it is such a rip off but I want the car there.
Cheapest £696 with £34.80 cashback with good old Quidco. However Airmiles is £716 but using 3900 airmiles I get money off bringing it down to £471 which is a heck of a lot better.
All booked now can start looking forward to seeing the family. Guess we will have to spend some more in Tesco to get the miles back up.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Quick good morning from me, off to London today for a meeting and my two managers wanted to have lunch with me. Not sure if I am in trouble or not but they were trying to book a table at Roast so we shall see.
Have been quite fed up with my job and not really got into it but yesterday I got lots of appointments so hopefully that will help. I feel so much better about the job now.
On the MB front I really wanted to finish with Bet3*5 but I could not find anything to use my last £50 SNR bet on. I think I might use it for the FA Cup game and that is it for them then.
Betfair is looking better as I got my money out of Sp*rtingBet (they were great though) so my next one is going to be PartyBets. I emailed them and asked if I could have a free bet weeks ago and they said no but I thought I would email again. This time asking how I could get the betting offers instead of the casino ones. They promptly replied I can have a 20% bonus of a max of $200. That means I have to deposit £500 odd wager it 4 times over 1.6 odds to release the £96 bonus money which I can then take out. If I take any winnings out before then I forfeit the whole bonus so need to make sure I have enough in Betfair to cover it all if I win at the bookies.
I feel it is a great offer but with Cheltenham coming up I am a bit torn if I should do it now or wait as I might not have enough money to do P*rtyBets and any good Cheltenham ones. I am using £1000 of my own money so don't really want to add anymore to it.
DH really wants to have a go but he wants to mug bet on the Cheltenham favorites. I hope Ladbrokes will give us a nice offer he can sign up to I can get him the free bet by MB and then hopefully pursuede him to let me lay his bets. He is NOT a gambler so I am not worried as he usually have about £5 on the National and that is it for the year.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Only 30% of favourites win - it is NEVER a good strategy to mug punt on favourites, especially at Cheltenham which is a gruelling course with big competitive handicap races. There will also be massive bookmaker offers - look for a £200 Ladbrokes one for example - so doing small flutter style bets will be a complete waste.
You should find small bets in the red top newspapers - Coral often do a bet a tenner get a tenner deal daily at Cheltenham. If the OH really wants to bet for real then use these offers or just use existing accounts and real money. Or do a Placepot bet - this requires you to chose 7 or so horses you think will win or place and is cheap for a big potential return, massively unprofitable but can be good fun in a recreational sense in the way a lottery is.
There's nothing at all wrong with recreational gambling for most people - it adds spice to a sporting event - but you have to accept that you will lose money doing it, because most times you are betting at odds below the theoretical probability of something happening which is how the bookmaker makes money. Matched bet offers are a finite resource, so maximise these and treat any recreational gambling as part of the entertainment spend.
Personally I'd skip the Partybets bonus at this point - offers will come and go, and tying up cash on a 4x WR when there will be bigger offers with 1x and quick withdrawal is a better way of using resources probably.0 -
Thanks Tim, that makes perfect sense and there is nothing to say the offer expires or anything. Yes the smaller free bets sounds good if he wants to mug bet, no way would I let him waste a nice SNR one.
Problem with next week is I am away a lot so might not have a chance to do much. Hopefully can find something for Weds and Fri when I will be at home.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Lots to tell you firstly about the meeting with the two managers. I had no idea why they had asked me to have lunch but basically they wanted to tell me about changes to the company. Now top manager is the owners daughter and she is fantastic the other one the line manager is awfull. I really don't get on with her workwise and she has quite a temper. Anyway the big news was that I was getting a new hands on manager and the current linemanager is staying in strategic work. It was hard to look sad about the news but I think I managed. Inside I was jumping for joy. I really can't wait to see the back of her. The new one starts next week and she is coming out on the road with us which I think is fab. Meeting afterwards also went well feel much better about the job now. A very good friend of mine has just been made redundant and his wife was made redundant 4 months ago. These are people with nicely paid steady jobs and suddenly it is all gone. I should be happy with what I have got.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Right MB News
Used my last free £50 bet with Bet3*5 and did it on Pompey beating Man U. Now I managed to get better odds for the lay so I think i overlayed it a bit. Pompey is my team and as they won I am over the moon. Means the return on the SNR bet is only £36 out of £50 which is grim but now I am out of that bookie.
Looking out for the next one and thinking about the Cheltenham offers. I am away now all next week apart from Wednesday so I really don't see how I can take advantage of it. I might have access to wifi Tuesday evening but my 3G card is blocked for gambling and this site too.
I like the look of the B*yles one even if they limit people but might still go with P**tyBets as I don't know for how long that offer is on for. I think it is only for me as I asked nicely. It is £99 straight money once I have wagered the £500 4 times on odds over 1.6 should be possible.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Gosh I forgot to tell you the biggest money saving thing I did today. We went looking for tiles (again but nearly there now) and popped into the Bathstore where we have ordered all the other stuff. Now we had to order it in a hurry as their sales ended but they have a 30 day price guarentee. Guess what I got yesterday in my inbox? New Bathstore sale and two of the sinks are reduced by a total of £200. Spoke to shop, 5 min later £200 credit back on the old plastic. Nice result really. Felt so good.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Very quiet Sunday here, did try to look at tiles (DH wanted to not me) but it was closed. However have now come to a decision and send all the stuff off to the fitter. Sadly I have managed to loose most of my paperwork relating to the quote etc etc but hopefully it will turn up. Not the most organised person me.
Signed up for the P*rtyBets offer they gave me. Have to bet through a lot before 8th April so have made a start. Made a few mistakes and it will cost me a bit today but hey ho that is life.
I don't usually spend my weekend watching football but with Pompey now being in the semi final of the FA cup and the only premiership team I am getting into the rest of the matches too. Would love to go and see the game at Wembley but bet we can't get tickets.
Off to Devon tomorrow and won't be back until Tuesday evening so take care all.Save £12k in 25 No 49
