Cheapest SIM only contract on the market? Sky SIM only 1gb for £1/month

I've been looking out for decent low data SIM only packages and found the Sky Mobile SIM only deal for £1/month for 12 months with unlimited texts and calls. 

It even comes in cheaper than Lyca, iD, Spusu and Lebara's best deals at the moment. 

You also get the MySky perks thrown in e.g. free Taste the Difference pizza from Sainsbury's this week (yum), free trials for streaming services. 

I'll be locking this one in and use an eSIM for additional data if I need it at any point (deals for eSIMs where the data doesn't expire are now available which is pretty neat).

There's a great deal of discussion about this over on HotUKDeals. 

Like many others I've got this as a backup and to make the "port dance" a little easier when my current Lebara deal expires in March.

It's also another useful direct debit for bank switching

For someone who doesn't need data, or to roam in mainland Europe, it's very good value. I noticed you can roam in the Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, for no extra cost. Plus you can make calls out of your unlimited bundle to the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, for no extra cost.

Anyone thinking of moving be warned that loads of people have reported that their eSIM won't activate.

If you want to go with Sky, best, I think, to not port your number across while taking out a contract with Sky, bu activate the SIM first and then port the number.
