Walking done, local town chaos, roads closed, a large local event going on, plus at least 5 pubs / clubs are also having a beer festival, plus a hugh steam train event going on. Had a wander around took photos, and legged it to the beach and away from it all. ~ think it is going to be a late one, last night the event hadn't even started but they were dancing in the streets. FB is a wonderful source of information of goings on.Been and done a small shopping in a different supermarket, else where, it was very quite there
as I guess everyone was at the above event.
Got a letter today, 'inviting me to apply for my state pension' it seems if you don't apply you don't get, any way easy enough online done.General sorting done and cleaning.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Afternoon all,
A bit of this and a bit of that. In no particular order: wm x 1, dinner bubbling in the sc, NDNs taxied to an event and will be collected later, a couple of hours spent looking at clever people’s work as part of a localish art trail, boxes put into the loft, a few bits brought down for disposal. Not enough removed for my liking, but it’s baby steps with DH. Although he is more than happy to suggest odd things of mine for throwing out!6 -
Morning all xx
Has the storm passed everyone? Are we all safe?
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, set WM swishing, changed Joey's seed and water, completed Strands with two hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with one life lost, and I'm supping a brew.
Brain Dump Alert. I'd stop reading here if I was you!
DS and DDil finally go on honeymoon tomorrow. (They got married in November 2025!). They're driving to Manchester Airport in the morning. DS came to see me yesterday to drop off a key and ask me to put bins out / in. And mentioned that his car had a leak 😱. 😳. It's not oil - we dipped. Its not fuel - we sniffed. I asked my NN if he knew anything about cars. Dragged him out in the now pouring rain. NN says it'll get you home. Hmmm. But will it get them to Manchester Airport?
I've arranged with my DB for him to have a look at the car today. Suggested to DS that they go by train - there's a bus service from Stockport and that's a problem apparently. So. If you miss the bus get a taxi from Stockport to the Airport... better than being stranded mid motorway with a broken down car. I've even Googled the route avoiding motorways ... that's handy, didn't know you could do that. If I was still a confident driver I'd take them myself. But I'm not. So I'm cross with myself. I'm also cross with I don't know what that instead of relaxing and looking forward to their honeymoon DS has this stress. And my anxiety is through the roof again.
I know. I know. DS is a grown up. He's a married man. It's not my problem. I've told my brain this. It doesn't listen.
And I'm not convinced that I need new glasses so I'm going to query / clarify that at the optician's on Tuesday.
Cuppa anyone?

I've put the heating on for half an hour to remove the chill. So yesterday's washing is now draped on radiators and I've FUPA the airer. First load today has been pegged out and towels / tea towels are swishing.
I fed the birds, put out the recycling, unboxed some cans of pop in the fridge ready to recycle the cardboard, ticked off what's been done on my list, and made a second brew.

Morning all - a lovely sunny day here although a little chilly. I love it 😄
Yesterday I took delivery of winter bedding plants and a couple of hundred spring bulbs. Looks like I'll be outside today, in between cuppas and BSB/BTCC
Also, my bulk orders of cleaning/laundry powders & potions has bern arriving in dribs & drabs so I'm busy decantung & refilling.
Such an exciting life I lead 😶
Just finishing this cuppa, then garden here I come!

Morning all. Yes round, thank you, we are all safe here - though we had a couple of mighty downpours yesterday evening!
DH has taken some of his unwanted wargaming stuff to a sale this morning. Hopefully he will be back in time for a late lunch, then I'm going out to a Taizé music workshop (IYKYK) at a neighbouring church all afternoon and probably won't be back until after 7pm. Our main meal is in the SC.
Baking season has started here. Yesterday I baked 8x 4-inch-square fruit cakes (to be marzipanned and iced), four muffin-sized fruit cakes from the leftovers (to be sold for D-I-Y decorating) but DS1 and DGD1 ate two of them when they called in yesterday afternoon, and 3x bare cupboard cakes (vegan) of which two are in my freezer and the other went home with DS1 with strict instructions to make sure that DDiL1 got her full share. Apparently she did get a slice, but I doubt that there's much of it left now. I am now waiting to take this morning's batch of 4-inch fruit cakes and 3 more "muffins" out of the oven. One more batch to go tomorrow, then 3x 7-inch cakes and 3x Christmas puds for my DC.
By Saturday I also need to make crumble topping for anything up to 30 portions and a harvest sheaf loaf.
Nest job is to order a birthday present for DGD1.
Hope that everyone has a peaceful day and that any who are still - or newly - sickly are on the mend xxx

Oooo. I bet your house smells wonderful iona 😊. Enjoy the Taize (can't get the accent to work) workshop.
I've harnessed my inner flylady (an amalgam of you all methinks. I can definitely detect Fayolle, iona, and HB, sat on my shoulder). Towels etc are pegged out. Gorgeous day - sunny, breezy, nippy. Draining board has been cleared of pots that were WULTD at some point in the past, making room for a bowl full.of pots to be WULTD. Glass jars and lids are now soaking. I'll finish my coffee then get them WULTD too.

Morning all.
It poured with rain all day here yesterday but I didn't care as I was either in bed sleeping or reading my book. I feel a lot better today though I still have a cough and very sore throat.
So far today I have changed bedding.. old stuff now on line and been to shop to post parcels. I've also attempted to take Poppet out but she wasn't interested. Will try again soon.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Glass jars WULTD.
Phone call made to S.
Walked to DB's and watched while he checked over DS's car. Leak is not a leak but air con condensation. All liquid levels checked. Shouldn't be any problem. If there is DB will take them to the airport.
Second call made to S to relay good news.
Snacks lunch eaten and athletics on telly.
Healing vibes heading to all poorly flyladies.
