My voluntary stint was cancelled by them this morning as the building is closed while they all do something elsewhere. Good thing too as I'm feeling very tired. (We had a bit of a late night last night, seeing Dear England again at the theatre. It really is very good indeed and I'm not into football at all.)We need mayo, I no longer want to buy He11mans, so I've made some for the first time in over 25 years. I've found a way of doing it that suits me but overdid the mustard, so I'll be more confident and careful about quantities next time. I made meringue with the eggwhites and they're drying out in the oven. We've got a bit of a celebration lunch on Sunday so we'll have them for pudding with something fruity.Today's 'I must do that' was some dusting. Not as much as ideally should have been done, but I'm tired and I did the bit that made me think it, so that's enough. Most days I do way more than I need to to satisfy my criteria so I don't feel even a bit guilty, and it's an improvement to the status quo so I'm happy.Better is good enough.5

Evening all. I hope that YL is beginning to feel better - any other under-the-weather Flyfriends or Flypets too.
I did the dailies this morning but for the rest of the day have concentrated mainly on the backstitch outlining on a cross stitch bookmark (nearly finished), cutting out some mini seed packets and folding + glueing them together, collecting evening primrose seed heads so that I now have five types of seed to make a small gift pack, going out for lunch and a walk at a local arboretum with DH and Rosie (DH was delighted when I suggested that we should go there because there is a good view across the river to the heritage railway which just happens to be holding its big steam event with visiting locos this week!), and cooking tea. It's been quite productive and very enjoyable. Off to watch LLF now.
See you tomorrow xxx6 -

did my voluntary stint yesterday then dropped my car off at the garage. Mechanic asked me if I had heard the noise (erm yes but it still goes
) which, it turns out, is the water pump. Would that be why I am losing coolant? Why yes! And you did mention the water pump last year says Valli - cue shuffle of paperwork....and a 'yes we did'. However they can't fix it today as cam belt needs removing to allow access so it's booked in for another visit and I'm not to go too far in it. So MOT and service today and water pump beginning of Oct. But I have a back up plan.
eBay sales made a week ago have now been paid for so I'm going to walk to PO for that shortly.
Off out tonight to a delightful, independent Italian - one I have been going to for about 50 years!!! Changed hands now though. We have a largish Italian population hereabouts which makes for good delisand independent family run restaurants. I'll perhaps have the seafood thing again... decisions decisions

Morning all and happy Friyayy,
I hope all poorlies are recovering, including flypets.
I went awol yesterday all in the cause of a day out with DH. We went to a new to us NT property a couple of counties away, but in reality it only took an hour or thereabouts. I persuaded DH to go on the short tour about the medieval history of the property and it was very interesting. I felt educated, informed and entertained by the day out. Flying went by the by, as did the September challenge for the day. Normal service resumed today.
DH has been dropped at the station for lunch out with a friend, so this morning (without him under my feet!), I have: run wm x1, dusted and vacuumed downstairs, gone the extra mile and cleaned both the LR windows and the front door glass, removed a zillion cobwebs. Next stop might HH admin, although I have found a plant pot which will enable me to complete one of my September Challenges. Decisions, decisions.
Eltee - I have also managed to sneak on a couple of pounds over the past week. Obviously this has nothing to do with all the extra fruit based cakes and puddings that I have been making…😳6 -
Morning, just.
Amother poorly here but beginning to improve although I'm limiting what I do today. So far I have done first of two work shifts, three wash loads that are now on line, dailies, walked Poppet and checked banking. Still in the black.Wordle in four even though I had four letters on first line.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morn ... Afternoon all xx
I am pleased and relieved to report that after three days sleeping and not eating or drinking Joey perked up yesterday. And is back to his usual busy little self. 😍
I'm recovering my equilibrium! Slowly.
I stripped my bed this morning and have swished, and pegged out, bedding and a towel and tea towel left over from last weekend.
I had 45 minutes in the front garden stripping back the pampas with my secateurs. My brown bin is now full and the lid is propped open to allow the ladybirds to escape.
The optician's phoned to say they can't get hold of the frames I want so I'm going in at 9am on Tuesday to choose a different frame. I've phoned my supervisor to let her know I'll be late into work on Tuesday and I'll work back the time.
Athletics on telly. Lunch break.
I hope everyone is on the mend.
