Hi, currently thinking of switching to Nationwide for the 'expected share' (unable to get switching incentive as last had account in 2023 & can't see a new one being offered for people like us. Eg. Previous switchers)

The account to be switched (an used Ulster bank account) would be a joint account.
Understand this years requirements haven't been announced BUT
In previous years would we both get 'the share' if we both open a personal saving account & fund with £100+ & meet other requirements in the current account?
Yes, a switch in Jan-Mar + £100 in a savings account any day in March was sufficient for a bonus in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

If you are a Nationwide Current Account customer, the Flex Regular Saver with interest is much better interest than the Flex Instant Saver and if opened today it should qualify for the Fairer Share Payment,  Plus if you let it run the 12 month term that is a nice little nest egg which will help with things.

My Flex Regular Saver matured today, transferred balance out as it matured to a pitiful easy access account, closed that account & then tried setting up a new Flex Regular Saver but it says the following when trying to apply...

Sorry, you can’t open a Flex Regular Saver

It’s because you already have one. You can only have one Flex Regular Saver account.

So, do I need to wait until tomorrow to re apply or can't I get another one as I've just had one?

I had this problem. I thought as soon as the last £200 monthly payment (£2400 in) went out, I would be able to set a new one up to start 1st February. Seems I need to wait until 2nd February, according to the lady in Nationwide. They need to pay the interest in and assume they then close the current one, by transferring to a lower interest, then I can open a new one and move the current money to a better savings account.

You can close the account in January if you prefer, leaving the path open to opening a new one on Feb 1st.

Or you could close by Fri, Jan 30th, open a new account and deposit £200 on Sat 31st, then deposit another £200 on Sun Feb 1st - thereby having £400 in the account from the very start. You can also add a 13th deposit on 1st Jan 2027.
