Fayolle nothing in this house generally makes it as far as a cake tin, OH likes testing things out, not just one but the whole lot!!
worse still if there are weekend guests / family.
It has just chucked it down here, now sun is back out, plus a very bright rainbow for about 1min.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

got somemwashing line dried, =brought some damp washing in just as it was beginning r=to rain and got it out again for a blow - not dry, but dry enough to iron.
Might have made damson jelly - waiting to see if it sets - it should as it tested as settable. Next lot are draining through my jelly bag - a term my brain now thinks is rude lol

Morning all xx
Started the day with a chuckle thanks to Valli. 😘
I don't know how people can lie in bed if they're not asleep. My brain goes into overdrive. It's easier to get up than to cogitate on the meaning of life!
So. I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, set WM swishing with yesterday's second load 🤔, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with one life lost, and supped a brew.
Yesterday turned into watch a movie afternoon. I watched The Avengers Infinity War and Endgame back to back. 5+ hours of escapism and not a pot washed. How decadent. How very unflylady of me. I enjoyed every minute....except for the sad bits.
So I'm serving up the Saturdailies that didn't get done cold for breakfast today. 😊
Second brew and shower first though.
Have a good day.

Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
Big family get together yesterday which meant a lot of travel and was chaotic but fun. Today I feel a bit hungover even though I don't drink. Wordle in two for the second day running. That's not happened before.
Priorities today are doing the crumb coat on DDs birthday cake, walking Poppet, posting a couple of parcels. Than anything I can do to tidy the house and garden.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all
The cold symptoms seem to be easing but I still sound like a Dalek. DH suggested I visited him at work today, he works in the gardens of a local stately home and I could go and have a wander around for free. Feel weirdly a bit anxious about being out when I am not 100% well but it would do me good.
I have also decided to have a major clearout/revamp of my little home office. There is far too much stuff in there (80% of which is never used). The furniture is cheap/mismatched and I could probably get rid of some of it. It just looks a mess. We also have a spinning bike in there which I do use occasionally but it takes up so much space.
Like a lot of our house the office could do with a lick of paint too. DH is increasingly uninterested in decorating/DIY and I am useless at it. Maybe it's time for me to learn?
Anyhow, have a good Sunday all. It's damp and misty here and rain is forecast later.6 -
Lovely autumnal morning here so I put my fleece on over my nightie and pegged out the washing before showering. Heavy rain forecast this afternoon.
Pots are soaking while I have a coffee.
YL - I'm thinking the same. Maybe it's time to learn....everywhere here needs decorating/ updating.

YL go for a short walk around where your OH is, and report back, I love stately homes but never go for some reason, and there are loads around here all steeped in history and gardens.Well so farWm x 1 done out on whirly it is sunny so may dry.Tipped loads of half showers gels / hand soap into each other, recycled the bottlesFed next door's cat, it wanted a cuddle which it got.OH gone out on motorbikeHoovered whole house but I'll do it again tomorrow to get all the edgs in.Put away a jigsaw done by family 2 years ago but has been under a rug to keep it safe from the cats who like to play with the pieces. The time has been taken by ordering online 2 new t shirts smaller size to get me through the winter, wear one wash one, then in the spring if I have lost any more weight I'll order again smaller sizes. Also some more knickers, I'm fed up with the smaller ones I did order falling down (ooo, err, misses) so even smaller ones ordered.
all cheap, even with delivery charge, I feel still cheaper than driving into big city and paying parking.

I hope you went for the walk, YL. I find that cobwebs blown away always make me feel better.I will never be able to hear the words jelly bag without sniggering now…
I’ve ticked a few jobs off this morning: wm x 2, bravely hung put until just now when I lost my nerve about the forecast for 100% chance of rain. Still waiting for that to happen. I have cooked the runners that I picked yesterday, also cooked the last of the plums as I am sick of seeing them in the fridge. Some tasteless peaches are destined for a clafoutis later, a cake might be made, bread is proving. Quite the domestic goddess in the making.September Challenge for today: cleaned the venetian blind and window behind the kitchen sink. There are 3 more blinds to go, but it is a start.4 -
Fayolle sounds very productive, venetian blinds are hideous things to clean.
Visited DH, Scampston Hall if anyone wants to Google, absolutely beautiful place. Walked all round the gardens and parkland. Feel a bit wiped out now.
I have decided that to make progress with my office I need to get rid of stuff, and that doesn't mean reshuffling/rehoming things within the house it means actually getting rid of it.
I might need a sit down first.7 -
Afternoon all. I put some washing out for a couple of hours this morning until it rained. It's pouring now and the wind is getting up. At 5.20 am when I was hanging washing I could hear a tawny owl nearby calling outI finally cleaned the bedrooms, did the bathroom and vacuumed and dusted downstairs and up the stairs and washed the kitchen floor. Some days I can just do it all and other days.......nothing!We've had a sort of Sunday lunch which was OK but not completely satisfactory as there are several things DH isn't supposed to eat. You'd think that when you got old you'd be able to finally eat what you like. Apparently not.Hope everyone's OK x5
