Plum jelly reboiled and repotted.
One DR unit has been emptied and I have dusted it and pulled it out and dusted behind it - I know it's going but it was grim behind there. I probably haven't cleaned behind there since before I had my diagnosis! Stuff taken to CS; some ruthless flinging has happened. I just need to empty the cupboard at the bottom of the other unit and clean behind that, too. Then it's on to the bookcase. Decorator has said he'll take the units to the tip for me - they are not in good condition and I doubt a CS would have had them - they were s/h when my ex bought them - in the 1980s.
Black bin emptied and I took the opportunity to wash it out. Towels were on the line most of the day - saw a bit of a cloud, brought them in and topped up the rabbit food from the sack in the shed - JUST before torrential rain started lashing down.
I made a plum crumble for dessert as I have a glut of the damn things.

Morning all,
DH has been sent on his way to visit relatives for the day. Packed off with a bag of f&v goodies, including some plums.Yesterday, thankfully, my car passed its MOT, as there wasn’t really a Plan B. My foray into the big town did mean that I had time to waste on the outskirts, where there just happens to be a fabric and wool shop on an industrial estate within walking distance of the garage 🙄. I just may have got tempted, even though I definitely restrained myself.Yesterday’s September Challenge - I took all my summery clothes out of the wardrobe and drawer and actually finished the job by putting them away into the suitcase. This did mean that I had to get out some of the more wintery clothes to make some room, which seems way too soon. The thick jumpers have remained wedged in the suitcase. HHI to spruce up some of the packed clothes. A couple of unworn or badly fitting summer bits put in the newly started cs bag.Today I have a flying list, basically downstairs. Wm x 1 run, hanging indoors in case of flash torrential rain as we had yesterday. It’s Friyayyy for all those who have been counting the days to the end of the working week.5 -
Morning all
I have been completely floored by a full on streaming cold. I was supposed to be at a work conference today but I didn't think it was professional to be in a room with 100 other people when I am constantly coughing and sneezing. I also feel a bit fluey. I told a senior manager this yesterday and she said "oh I think you would be OK to go" which really annoyed me.
So I am on the sofa watching daytime TV.
This weekends decluttering tasks are to get rid of the pile of old blankets/towels out of the airing cupboard which are piled up in the spare room, take the 2 bags next to them to the charity shop, and do some shredding from the box under DHs desk.
Hopefully a quiet day today will sort this cold out, I hate being ill.8 -
*healing vibes* heading your way YL. I'd be annoyed too if I were told to go to an event with 100 people in a room that it didn't matter if they were all infected with a lurgy.Today's 'I must do that' is tidying my office/RoD. It's bad, once again, because it's my dumping ground and it's been a busy week. In case that isn't really in the spirit of things, but it was the first thing I thought of so it's the thing that Must Be Done, I'm also going to put the hanging tags on three or four hand towels that have a nasty habit of falling into the dog's water bowl without them. And it's not the right time of year to be washing more towels than I need to.I also need to:- print off a Belgian Bun recipe I can do in the breadmaker to begin with, and see if I can halve it so I only make six;- contact a firm about something I sent them last week that appears not to have arrived, and redoing it is a right old faff;- pack up a big pile of saved nasturtium seeds that I saved;- phone my cousin in America about her planned UK visit in May next year. That one will be tricky;and if I have the time and energy- tidy my recipes file.Better is good enough.5

Flingitty -flingitty fling fling. The sewing machine that I gave to my friend when I inherited (bagged, really) mum's machine and then had to borrow back because mum had 'tidied' the foot pedal away and I had to shorten my vertical blind louvres because I had mis-measured has gone back, along with a small orchid and a couple of jars of home-grown bayleaves (fancy coffee jars). I've given her the bayleaves for her but also for our other friend because I expect our other friend will be popping round with a birthday card/gift this weekend and I need my dining room clearing.
Before I went out I pegged out two lots of washing and emptied the DW and WUALTD.
It's Friday; must be bed stripping day.
Hope you feel better soon YL and GRR at your boss...

I've had my bus pass for several years and have a big birthday next year. I don't feel old and I can remember when people looked 'old' at this age, but I honestly don't think I do, although the increasingly grey hair is a bit of a giveaway. Either way, I love my bus pass and use it far more than I ever caught buses before I had it. I think our grandparents generation had it a lot harder than we do and that's my explanation for it.Better is good enough.5

Afternoon all. Hope you get over your cold quickly YL.One washload done, draped round upstairs all morning. The weather said dry for an hour so I pegged a few bits out. Obviously it rained after 10 minutes so it's back upstairs again. The forecast seems to say rain for the next week so I just have to plod on with it. We don't have a tumble dryer and the heating's not on yet so it takes a while.DH went for another blood test this morning and it absolutely hammered down on the way there so we both had to have dry trousers and socks when we got back. He had to have a dry shirt too because he's discovered his coat is no longer rainproof. He has others but this is his old favourite.Otherwise not much else going on. I should clean the bedrooms but I'm not going to! Hope everyone's OK x4

ooh - decided it looked a bit grey so I went to get my washing in - it had started spitting. After I'd brought it in it absolutely threw it down!
My bed stripped and remade
Going to strip DD's next, and load up the WM.
Called my friend (who's had to temporarily revert to a vintage phone so has no apps atm) to arrange to go and see Downton Abbey The Finale at the cinema. We are going in the day like old people lol. Not sure what day yet. This is the same friend whose house I was in for a couple of hours earlier and I forgot to ask about the film.
I went to see the first film at the cinema with mum, never having watched the TV series; mum had to explain who everyone was and bits of the backstoryDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Office/Room of Doom looks a lot better, there are hanging tags on four hand-towels and the Belgian Bun recipe has been typed and and recalculated to show quantities for both 6 and 12 buns. Phone call made to firm I needed to deal with and an annual headache has now been turned into an email annually. That'll do nicely.I have not phoned my cousin, nor have I started on the recipe file but that's okay. I rarely finish a wishlist but I've done things that will no longer irritate me and that's a huge win.Better is good enough.5
