Plums dripping (slowly now) through my new jelly bag (not a euphemism, Round!) so will make plum jelly at some point tomorrow.
Box brought upstairs.
Going to my voluntary job tomorrow.
My September challenges
1 - clear the DR cupboards and drawers ready for decorating. Ongoing.
2 - sew covers for my new chairs in the DR thus protecting them from cat hairs. This will involve going into the furniture shop and measuring the display chairs as a first step. Chairs are on order (as is rest of furniture)
3 - Decide if I am going to retire. Done for me!
4 - Complete the list of Admin tasks which have gone onto the back burner including completing PoA
5 - Book various health-related appointments - teeth, eyes & feet Done teeth, called about feet but didn't get a callback. Checked with health insurance and eyes must be done in February if I'm to get glasses free. Also booked personal MOT at docs.
6 - Knit collar for languishing jumper
Progress being made, then

... creeps back in ...Commiserations becasue the decision was made for you Valli, and congratulations on your well-earned retirement.Hugely well done Kaz. Quite something to have walked 1,000,000 steps. Again. And in 10 days less.I'm up for the September Challenge but if I wrote a list it wouldn't get completed and I'd feel even more of a failure on the Flying front. So I decided the best way to tackle it was to do the first job I saw every day that made me think, 'That needs doing', an idea I came up with yesterday after I caught up with Fred. So today I dusted and washed the dustiest places in the bathroom (which was yesterday's 'I must do that') and later on after my shower I'll deal with the mould on the bath which was this morning's 'That needs doing/I must do that.'Everything that will get done for the Challenge will be stuff I wouldn't do normally, obviously, but that quietly nags at me. There's rather a lot of that kind of thing here.Better is good enough.5

Afternoon,
I'm working off list today but pleased with what I've got done so far.
I've unloaded the DW
Sorted through both the baking cupboard and plastics cupboard. I've managed finish filling a box and a large poundshop bag with unused stuff from the back of the cupboards. I also have a few bits for my mum and a pile of stuff for my girls to go through, if they don't want them they can go to the charity shop too.
I've gone through the drawer under my cooker where baking trays etc are. Cleaned it out and got rid of the things that were going rusty. I've already brought replacements.
I've cleaned the hob but the actual oven will have to wait til I have some rubber gloves.
The DW is back on freshening up bits for the charity shop and I'm having a coffee.
I have my health assessment phone call this afternoon which I admit I'm worried about but hope to get some jobs done after it.

Love the 'that needs doing' idea HoneyBear.
My strained plums have made plum jelly - very pretty colour, as they were golden plums, and I could see that there was plenty of pectin. (Its the viscosity of the strained juice and experience which help me recognise it) and I have 4 bids on eBay from 1 person - buying 4 lots of knitting patterns so that's about 20 patterns leaving in one fell swoop. Item sent back to BackMarket as unwanted/was wrong anyway and while I was down the PO I jettisoned 2 bags of stuff to CS.
I have now brought two filled boxes up from DR.
Need to run round and do a bin bag dance next.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Well done, Kaz.
HB, that is exactly how I am tackling it. If I wrote a list for the challenge, I would stress because I have failed. Having said that, I am not sure that I have done an extra task today. It’s DH’s birthday so we went for a pub lunch, not sure that counts.
I had the admin phone call this morning that was worrying me for the past two nights. Absolutely fine and why did I waste that energy on worrying. Sorted out odd bits of paperwork relating to the call, so that is done and dusted. DH went to the market and went off liste, grrrrr. DD called from her travels to wish him happy birthday, panicked me at first but she is fine and loving her trip so far.
Bathroom cleaned, all mirrors polished, then I decided to clean DD’s bedroom windows - that’s the extra task for today. No cooking tonight, so an easy night for me. My car is booked in early tomorrow for a service and MOT, so keeping everything crossed there.

Today's 'I must do that' was replying to an email which wasn't hard but took over an hour, which is why I hadn't done it before now. So that's now done. Now to hop into the shower which I didn't do yesterday, good intentions and all that, after which I will deal with the mould on the sealant, and then trot off to do my bit of volunteering. Not at all sure which Flying bits and pieces I'll do when I get back. Apart from a bit of tidying (always needed Chez HoneyBear) that may be pretty much it for the day.Better is good enough.5

Morning all (not quite my dinnertime yet, so morning for me!)Very changeable weather here so one load of washing draped round upstairs doing very little. Been out with DDs this morning for coffee and a walk and a little bit of shopping. Cleaned the bathroom before I went. Not much else going on, hope everyone's OK x5

Afternoon everyone.
K came yesterday morning and gave the LR, bedrooms, DH's ensuite and the bathroom (those bits that I couldn't do) HSL a good going over, including moving all the heavy furniture when hoovering. I cleaned the kitchen (apart from the floor) and the bathroom (apart from the bath itself, never used because I prefer a shower). That left the DR, which is where most of the spiders have been hanging out. The table is very heavy and I shall need DH's help to move it out. The DR and kitchen windows need cleaning too. Maybe tomorrow... In the afternoon I delivered a couple of bits to a friend and stayed for a cuppa, then went to MrAl for a smaller-than-usual food shop. I still haven't written the Christmas cooking list. I also had another batch of golden plum jam in the SC and just enough jars and lids to finish off all the churchyard plums: 17 jars altogether
Today I have been out with Rosie and successfully timed our walk to miss the showers; cut down the spent runner beans and stuffed the remains of the plants in the compost bin; emptied all the kitchen bins; S&S'd the kitchen (but still not done the floor or window); and successfully logged into my new BS account.
We have our dental checkups in about 20 minutes, and the sun is out again. I'd like to put my feet up and do some more cross stitch later this afternoon. A double portion of pork and bean stew is defrosting for tea. I feel a bit more organised than most days, and the September challenges are being ticked off in manageable stages, one day at a time.
Will catch up with thread again later xxx

More of the bathroom than I'd intended was given a thorough going over this morning. Now making plum jam with some whoopsied plums I picked up earlier in the week. I'm running low on jars so I'll make the rest into a couple of crumbles for the freezer.Better is good enough.5
