  • You know what happens when because the 8 steps in the Template Defence thread (plus the more detailed info in post 2 of the NEWBIES thread) tells everyone, to stop us being asked!
Hi so I received today a letter dated 20th Oct (my defence deadline) from HM Courts & Tribunal to acknowledge receipt and that a copy is being served on claimant and their solicitor advising they may contact me to resolve informally but that if they wish to proceed to court, the claimant must contact the court within 28 days after receiving defence.

I didn't see this in the 'next steps' part - assume this is standard and now I just wait ?

Yep, standard. You'll receive a letter from DCB Legal saying they have read your defence (a lie) and they want to proceed (without mentioning they'll be discontinuing eventually).

Thanks! So do they reach out to try to resolve informally then ?

Mediation stage is that point,  so keep checking the 8 steps in the defence template thread and follow them closely

They try to informally bully you into capitulation throughout the process,  so ignore them,  just follow the 8 steps

    Got it thanks !
  • Hi so I have received an email from Litigation Support at DCB Legal on day 28 after my defence deadline to inform that they have reviewed my defence and still wish to proceed with my claim. They are also asking me to call within 7 days to discuss settlement. According to the 8 steps, I'm ignoring this - is that right ? Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks - was just looking for confirmation that I had interpreted correctly and I should ignore this letter?
  • Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have received the Directions Questionnaire. From everything I have read I am to sign, scan and send via email to the DQ.CNBC email address - is that correct (cc-ing info@dcblegal)? I've also put details of my local county court - would I be expected to go there for mediation or is this down over the phone ? Thanks.

    Mediation is a phone call
