Follow the 8 steps in the defence template thread, completing the AOS online on MCOL ASAP, by logging in to your government gateway account and navigate through to MCOL, follow the completion advice in the second post in the newbies sticky thread and once it's done study a few recent cases to draft your own defence, based on what others wrote for the template
Also, please edit your thread title to something more suitable like

Thank you. I'm just nervous now that I don't have a strong defence to pursue this. I made every effort to pay in Euro Car Parks but never received payment confirmation. When I contacted PaybyPhone the same day (Euro Car Parks payment supplier) they acknowledged I had logged into the system but that payment hadn't gone through for some reason. The advised they couldn't take retrospective payment but that I should appeal if I receive a PCN which I did. It was declined. I attempted to pay and had followed all instructions and the srror was due to a system failure beyond my control. My appeal was rejected without any acknowledgment of the efforts I made to comply with the payment process. I had entered the correct vehicle registration and card details, and the failure was entirely due to Paybyphone’s operational fault. PaybyPhone, when suggesting I appeal any PCN, was that Euro Car Parlks could contact them directly to verify the incident but the appeal rejection made no reference to this.0

All irrelevant at the moment, your defence is already in, just follow the process and steps in the defence template thread, do what needs doing, because after the n180 DQ document is submitted, plus the mandatory 5 minutes no offer mediation call, it will be several months before any backstory might matter, so deal with the present and leave the rest until around springtime2

These DCB Legal / ECP claims are ALWAYS DROPPED WHEN DEFENDED. Takes a few months but it will be discontinued in 2026.
As already requested, please edit your thread title which is now incorrect for your stage, and remove the phrase 'next steps' which is a personal bugbear along with people saying their 'anxiety is through the roof' & 'do I have a leg to stand on'. Is it just me because I've been posting here so long?!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I think to some people this is really stressful - nothing more than that and they come here for advice because they need help/are anxious/don't understand what will happen next.2 -
Oh no ... believe me, I get that!
It's the overused phrases they got from Tiktok... (the latter two phrases, not yours)! Not 'next steps' which is OK I suppose but I just don't like it, as - to me - it sounds like we are teaching a toddler to walk.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
