Hi, just reading the posts and checking did all these incidents take place on 15/08/25? We were also delayed for over 3 hours on our flight from Belfast to Newcastle and received the same message of damage by a third party not our fault .After reading the previous message that states two easyJet planes collided with each other that morning in Manchester is it not highly unlikely they had two separate collisions in one day and are fobbing people off?
A flight from BFS to NCL wouldnt have involved the Manchester based planes involved in the Manchester "collision".
  • Seems rather incredible to me that the reason my claim for compensation for a delayed flight from Belfast to Newcastle on 15th August being denied is this:

"To further explain what happened on the previous sector; a third party supplier at the airport caused damage to the plane that was schedueled to take you to Newcastle.Once parked in the gate area, the damage to the aircraft had to be assessed. Unfortunately, there was significant damage found which we were unable to repair, we had no option but to delay your flight. We do take reasonable measures to avoid cancellations and delays to our flights by having replacement crews and spare aircraft available in our network. In the circumstances, these options were not possible as higher than expected levels of disruption to our network meant that our replacement crew and spare aircraft had already been deployed."

    Not even joking.

They must be the unluckiest airline in the world to have 2 completely separate incidents of third party damage to a plane on the same day.

Seems like EasyJet has given you a very detailed reply to the delay and the reason why compensation for the 2h 54m delay to your arrival is not going to be paid.

Presumably this is EZY269/15AUG with scheduled times of BFS 1410 NCL 1510 and which operated in the end BFS 1733 NCL 1804.

If so this was operated on an A319 registration G-EZDF.

This aircraft was no where near MAN that day. The aircraft started its day in Belfast and operated BFS BHX BFS SOU BFS NCL BFS BHX BFS.

Aircraft can unfortunately be hit and damaged by airport ground equipment during their routine aircraft turns airports. Could be steps, airbridges, service vehicles or tugs.  It happens.  Bit like parking your car at Tesco and someone manages to run their trolley down the side of your car…..

In any case its under 3 hours so the reason is moot.

Under 1500km a delay of 2 hours or more may lead to £220 in compensation.

Given that arrival time is when at least one of the doors opens, our arrival time was 18:14, not 18:04. I have a timestamped photo to prove this.

I have a legal challenge to the denial already lodged.

Perhaps you should inform your Easyjet colleagues of this before commenting further.

    Thanks.
