Try and put the new SIM in your phone at the beginning of the week, eg Monday or Tuesday, as if there are any snags things can take a little longer and everything seems to grind to a halt over the weekend which can be an inconvenience.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Oldernonethewiser- Thanks for the advice.
So, to clarify, does this mean that I will have a different number for a while? Until the "change over original' number kicks in?
TIA 😺

OP, do you have an Android/Apple smartphone?
In ye olde days of candy bar phones with actual keypad buttons on them (remember Nokia?) then it was indeed common for contacts to be stored on the sim rather than the phone.
If you have one of those phones then you will probably need to back up the sim's contents to the phone; there will be an option in the phone menu somewhere.0 -

I remember the olden day phones, they had 3 letters on each number, meaning texting took forever. eg it could mean hitting each key up to 3 times, just to display 1 digit in a text0
