We have now applied for probate online after all the help from you lovely people and it shows submitted. I posted the original documents at the beginning of the week. Royal Mail tracking shows delivered next day but no email yet to confirm & not showing received online. It does however state

“We’ll email you when we receive your documents. There might be a delay of up to 2 weeks from us receiving your documents and sending the email.”

So maybe they have them? 🤔

Not sure if processing will be delayed as the original codicil was found by both executors inserted into the middle of a photocopy of the will. We sent it as found with an explanation that there is only one set of staple holes in the codicil but the photocopy of the will has 2 sets of staple holes. This appears to be where the copy of the will has been taken apart to insert the codicil & then stapled back together. The original will was collected from the solicitor, unmarked and still complete and also sent.

Anyone ever come across something similar? Am hoping that by including an explanation it will save them having to write to us?

The trust has now been registered and closed online and letter sent as instructed by technical officer at Nottingham trust office.

Council tax has confirmed on the phone that the exemption does apply & will continue until 6 months after probate granted.

House goes up for sale next week.
Well done to have got to this stage after your various trials and tribulations.

Grant has arrived with a typo 🙄. Part of the wording is repeated / duplicated
They have apologised and are sending replacements. Always worth checking everything including spelling of names & addresses and amounts shown gross & net.

I rang at 9am and got straight through. He said replacements will take 5 working days

Amended grant & copies received today but missing the hologram 😕 Have managed to get on webchat and they are reissuing the amended grant with hologram plus 4 copies (hopefully!!)

Thought it was all sorted once I got the email to say probate granted but this has probably been one of the worst parts 😢

It gets worse… have now received copies of the original grant which they told me were invalid ☹️

Got onto webchat & have been told (again) that I will be sent amended certified official copies of amendment with seal & holograms. 4th time lucky. Not sure if it’s even worth sending an email as it’s now the weekend it’ll be middle of next week before I get anything else now.
