Milliemoohippo said:I challenged myself to sell enough for a little Christmas weekend break by declutterring our house in the summer and selling on Vinted. I am blown away with what I have achieved, I made £821!! so now I am challenging myself to beat that in September - anyone up for joining me. its more motivating when you're not doing it on your own.@ Milliemoohippo - Congratulations with your super efforts I would say yes to joining you, but I've been participating in the make £2,025 in 2025 challenge which I've now completed 3 times already through the year which I had to split between £3000 CGT pre 2025 tax year & then £3000 CGT for this tax year. I am on my 4th £2,025 round
- I decluttered & sold/selling all unused items through the whole house with only brand new clothing & handbags left to sell which I hope will all be gone by Christmas
Whilst I would have loved to have had the holiday of a lifetime my house roof needed stripping & repairing etc along with changing my ancient very uneconomical boiler both of which were almost paid for by all the decluttered items I have sold todate, so I didn't need to dip into my savings
'Where's there's muck, there's brass' and the effort of listing when time permits; exceedingly busy household here & sending parcels has been worth it's weight in gold

In my experience, Vinted are fabulous for selling items from mid September through to the 1st week of December - I spent my life at the inpost locker last year, taking 2 large shopping trollies full of parcels a couple of times during the night
Well worth it, as those pennies soon add up!
If anyone needs any free boxes, try looking / asking at your local super market. Always flat pack boxes available at Mr. Sains, so only had to buy tape to pack sold items to send.# No.2 Save 1p A Day Challenge 2026 £177.51 / £667.95 (3)# No.4 Save £12k in 2026 £4855.01 / £12,000 (3)# No.4 £2 Savers Club 2026 - (25/12 - 24/10) £74 / £200 (3)# No.8 Sealed Pot Challenge 19 - 2026 - 24/12 - 24/10 £60+ / £400 (3)# No.5 Fiver Friday Challenge 2026 £60/£230 (3)# Make £2026 in 2026 £1340.67 / £2026 (3)1 -
The wet & chilly weather seems to be helping as I've sold some jackets, jumpers and smart work clothes. I'm up to £70 now

That’s amazing – £821 is such a huge win, well done! I love how you turned decluttering into a little holiday fund. I’m tempted to join you for September, it sounds so motivating to do it together. It’s kind of like going to a salon with a friend—you both keep each other accountable, enjoy the process more, and celebrate the results at the end. Count me in!
