Using Santander App for Cahoot only (Android)
Comments

It usually happens because the Santander app only gives you access to view and manage the basics on a Cahoot account, but transfers out still route through the Cahoot site. The OTP going through then failing is a common mismatch issue.
Do the transfer on the Cahoot website and it should go through without that error.

I've been making payments to both new and existing beneficiaries using the Santander app. Only had to change the reference for it to go through.nakie999 said:It usually happens because the Santander app only gives you access to view and manage the basics on a Cahoot account, but transfers out still route through the Cahoot site. Same here. Changed a digit at the end of the reference each time and worked fine for existing payees.BigBlueSky said:

Oh well.0 -
Hopefully it will return - Seems a backward step to remove a function that has been there for such a long time.0

Cahoot aren't very bright...
To change the OTP mobile they ask you for the old one and twice for the new one. Enter it right: all good. Enter it wrong then copy and paste: You're screwed! (But you don't know till the current session ends, and you want back in)
Instead of asking for the new OTP mobile twice, they should send you a test OTP, and make you type in the second box the code, to prove that it has been deliverable - which not only includes that you typed it right, but also that the new number can receive OTPs fine.
Then only commit the changes if you've entered the right code; otherwise, back to square one.
How bright does one have to be to devise this simple improvement to the OTP change workflow? Not much. And yet, Cahoot didn't think about it... Or if they did, they found it too complicated for some reason and shelved it... God knows.

Does anyone know if Cahoot ac holders can use the Santander iOS app to login (and maybe do things like transfer money too)?0

Also, can someone confirm (or not) that the "Cahoot Simple Saver (issue 13)" is a dual-rate account (as per the link below shows at #2: 'Cahoot Simple Saver 13 (£1) (3.4% bonus for 12 months)") thus has:
underlying 1% + 12mth bonus 3.4% = 4.40% total (thus only the 1% can lower within the year of opening?):
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/article-1583859/Best-savings-rates-General-savings-Internet-branch.html
The Cahoot website doesn't mention this dual-rate (underlying+bonus) split anywhere I've found?[EDIT: yes, issue 13 at 4.40% has now changed to issue 14 at 4.05% – but the answer to my question still remains.]0 -
Thanks @trient - oh that's a shame. Might try it in a couple of days myself, and confirm back here for others.trient said:
I had it set up but for a good few weeks it's been saying it can't be used by Cahoot account holders.phonek said:Does anyone know if Cahoot ac holders can use the Santander iOS app to login (and maybe do things like transfer money too)?
Anyone know re. the dual-rate question I asked above?

EDIT:
OK well I gave Cahoot a quick phone call, and they clarified this...Anyone know re. the dual-rate question I asked above?
Basically, the ThisIsMoney website confused it a bit [they've since updated the screenshotted page above to new rates, so you can't see as it was], as the "3.4% bonus for 12 months" they stated on that webpage actually means that you get 3.4% on top of the 1% rate the account automatically drops to after 12 months.
So should Bank of England Base Rate keep lowering over the year, the interest rate could potentially fall below that 3.4%, should Cahoot choose to do so for issue 13 of the account. Cahoot said they always give ~2months notice of rate changes if they do.

Ok well funded the ac, and tried Santander iOS app: NO, doesn't work.
After entering your Personal ID/username, you get the following "You can't log on with your cahoot credentials" screen:

Annoying, but oh well.
