I have had to be quite inventive this week as my oven blew up on new years day and its going to be 14 days before anyone can come out

Oooh poor you, you have my sympathies! You dont realise how much you use/need it until you dont have one do you?

Our convection microwave (used for everything as oven in this house is carp) broke in December and i cried lol :o blame the hormones!

I couldn't believe how much we relied on it until it was gone, luckily got another ordered and delivered within 5 days - i nearly kissed the delivery man lol :rotfl:

Not as bad as the time when didn't have a fridge for 2 weeks but lets not get into that  lol

    Hello,

This is the first time that I've posted on the meal plan thread, it has been a great help to me to see what others are having as menu planning doesn't come easily to me. Here's my plan:

Saturday: Sausage casserole with mashed pots
Sunday: Curried mince with basmati rice
Monday: Scrambled egg on toast (I'm by myself so I tend to eat lighter meals)
Tuesday: Left over Sausage casserole from Saturday reheated
Wednesday: Roast chicken (if my local Co-op has any, the last two days the 'chicken' shelves have been empty)
Thursday: Tinned Mackerel with salad and jacket potato (by myself again, DH hates the smell of mackerel so I only ever eat it when he's not around!)
Friday: Chicken with rice (using leftovers from Weds.)

I might swap Monday and Tuesday night meals around, not sure yet.:D

    Hiya Penny Pincher

Im so sorry, a little behind this week Im afraid, myself & OH have just gone through the cupboards, fridge & freezers, and done this weeks shopping list (ready to do Sun am) there's not a lot of shopping we actualy need, as I want to use up what we have! (OH wages have been messed up over Xmas & NY, and not been paid as much) so hopefully when its sorted, we can do a BIG SHOP & re-stock everything up.

Anyway, here goes what we intend to have this week.

Sat - Chicken balti, & Chicken tandoori with Naan bread
Sun - Chicken & mushroom pies with veg & mash
Mon - kids - pizza & onion rings with HM potato wedges
    OH - corned beef hash
    Me - ocean pie
(using up stuff - cant you tell)
Tues - Sausage casserole or just plain bangers & mash with veg (not decided yet)
Weds - Chicken with Campbells mushroom soup & pasta
Thurs - Savoury mince, mash & veg
Fri - usually a take away for myself & OH. (Kids will be at their dads)

    Have a great week!!!
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure
  • I’m doing the grocery challenge so this menu is based on what I’ve already got in the house. My daughter and I are vegy but my DH and DS aren’t so I have to do two meals each night.

Sat - Cheese fondue with a mountain of French bread and vegetables
Sun - Roast Pork/Vegy Roast with roast potatoes, peas, carrots and swede
Mon - Sausages (both vegy & meaty ones) potato bake, peas and sweet corn
Tues - Enchiladas (both mixed bean & mince ones), pepper salad, tortilla chips
Wed - Pasta & shop brought sauces, Salad
Thurs - Slow cooker vegy chilli/meaty chilli & rice (yes, I have 2 slow cookers!)
Fri - HM Pizza, garlic bread & salad

It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

I finally sorted out the freezer so here's my meal plans for next week.

Tonight - Pork chops with grainy mustard and tomato sauce + mash
Sunday - Roast Gammon, parsley sauce and roasties
Monday - Sausage and Lentil Hotpot
    Tuesday - Mince + tatties
Wednesday - using up opened packs of burgers/fishfingers/chicken things + chips
Thursday - Shepherds Pie and roast veg
Friday - Venison and Leek Pie

I've taken up the challenge to not spend anything at work for a month so I'm making soups to take to work for lunch.

    Have a great week everyone.;)
