Sorry to spoil your fun but SIL literally completed it in 2 mins (photos to follow) because  I’m basically pinned down by Daughters dog lol.

only worry I have is he went over the thin bead with the thicker bead & it had only been on a few hours so possibly not cured ? What should I watch out for with this ? I guess it would be just the obvious ie coming away from tiles ?

He did it super quick and said he will check it aesthetically later but I won’t hold my breath 😂
Grateful he has helped me out though 😊

The original bead will have heavily 'skinned' but likely not fully cured. But that's ok - the whole lot will set over a day or two. It probably helps adhesion, even.
    I wouldn't be worried.
If his effort isn't good enough for folk on here, we may need to insist you redo it for aesthetic reasons - we do have standards, you know... :-)

  • Hi

    sorry it’s me again

ive not used shower much since it was sealed but everytime I do I’m getting a bit of clear jelly on the shower tray. I was thinking it was what was left over of the mould magic I put into the grout as that is clear jelly. However today when I scraped the clear jelly it looked like the jelly became white elasticy making me worry something went wrong with the white silicone.

My son in law was spraying elbow grease all purpose degreaser spray on it as he smoothed it and I did question this but he said that was fine. I definitely gave it enough time to cure.

My question is would I definitely know if the silicone was failing ? The tube was brand new and just opened and everything still looks fine.

Is there anyway to check it’s 100% sound as I don’t want it leaking through my kitchen ceiling

    Thankyou for reading

Honestly I would have cleaned, dried and then applied the silicone. I wouldn't be spraying degreaser (or anything else on) on whilst applying as I'd worry about adhesion and curing issues.
