Car purchased in last five months from dealer - gearbox faulty

I bought a Nissan Juke from a car dealer at beginning of March. They gave me a three month warranty. They didn't take credit card so I did a money transfer from my credit card to my bank.
In July it started making weird noises. I took it to Nissan who diagnosed a gearbox fault. I had travelled less than 1000 miles in it since the purchase. I got a couple of quotes for repair - £3000. The warranty period had expired in July but there was a noise since I purchased it which the dealer assured me was normal for a Nissan autobox.
My question is can I claim any money back from the dealer or get them to pay for repair?
If so, what is the best way to go about it?
I have the documentation from Nissan and a copy of the repair quote.
Thanks

It is a 2014 Juke (64 reg) with 80000 miles.0

Up to 6 months the assumption is that the fault was present at the point of sale and they would have to prove otherwise beyond 6 months the assumption is that the fault was not there and you have to prove that it was
The dealer gets one chance to fix the fault or gives you a refund, adjusted for the use/mileage you have done
Look up and quote the consumer rights act 2015 for vehicles0 -
Thank you. So I just message them to say it has major gearbox issues and they need to sort it under the consumer rights act 2015? Is it enforceable? What happens if they don't respond or say no?0

Manual or CVT? If its a CVT its a well known issue. If the CVT system isn't fully drained and filters changed every 4 years/40,000 miles the swarf in the filters prevents lubrication of the gearbox.0

It is a CVT.0

In that case it is almost guaranteed to fail if it isn't serviced.0

Ok thanks. Not sure if there were any service details provided for gearbox maintenance when I purchased the car.0

It’s a 10 year old car with a high mileage. Good luck getting any contribution to the repair.
You might be better getting a box from a car dismantler.Mortgage free

I am going to send the following message to the garage. Is it any good? What next steps can I take if they either ignore the message or say no?
I would like the car repaired under warranty please. The start of the issue was there from when I purchased the car. It made a 'wub wub' sound while driving and I did query this. I was told that is a normal noise for the Nissan auto gearbox but subsequently I have been in contact with an auto gearbox specialist who said those gearboxes should be silent and the noise is the sound of worn bearings. I cannot drive the car as I don't want to cause any extra damage and I also don't know if it will suddenly fail on me.
