Kaz - we've lived in London all our lives (despite our best efforts to sell up and move away) and get riled up when we visit countryside / coast and hear people moaning about smells and sounds of animals / seagulls. At least its all natural 🙂 Why do they bother visiting or moving there? I know someone who moved to the coast and moans about the seagulls. Idiots
Rant over......Mutter, mutter, wanders off to tidy up and put house up for sale, perhaps we won't get mucked around this time 🤬

Afternoon all, wet and windy here but we're down south so I'm sure it's worse further north. I'm saving up my washing for tomorrow so the forecast had better be right. DD1s dog is going home tomorrow too after we get our shopping delivery. I'm going to miss him but he's already booked in for October.I've dusted and polished and vacuumed downstairs and up the stairs and washed the kitchen floor. I confess I don't really look at the lists but reading the posts on here makes me keep trying to keep things reasonable. Our wedding anniversary today - 53 years. We celebrated with DH having a nurse's appointment. He has to have more testsHope everyone's OK x6

A quick jump on here while Mr N and his brother have gone for a walk - we had one together this morning.
Well done to MMM. Congrats to MrsMr & Pollybear.
Flying for preparation of BIL arriving was all done, birthday cake made. We had a nice meal out (Thai) last night.
This morning the flying was more culinary - our 'village' plum and greengage trees are shedding fruit everywhere so we gathered several bags full, have washed them and I'm about to stone and freeze them. While I'm in kitchen mode, I'll make tonight's dinner as the planned lunch with friends didn't happen owing to one of them having Covid.
Was a bit shocked at the GP to feel so pressured for time; my shoulder/arm issues are a bit complex and I'm a bit of a verbal rambler, but I'd not 'told the whole tale' before she said 'we're nearly out of time'. I guess they have 10min slots. She agreed to refer me for a scan of the shoulder but not of the elbow (she didn't actually say too expensive but muttered something about being justifed; despite me emphasising that the elbow was much more painful). She offered me a low dose of antidepressants which are used for pain relief/muscle relaxant but I declined; I've tried that one previously and it made me totally miserable. She warned me that the scan appt might take some time. I think I'll discuss it with the physio on Thursday; it may be that the gym (Nuff1eld) can offer an affordable solution. So a bit disappointing really, but at least I went.
Took car into garage to have the front bumper resprayed after various people have driven into me/scratches we have acquired.
Still culling loads of emails while I'm on a roll; I got rid of over 1000 when I was trawling through anything relevant to my tax return.
I'm organising photos to go into a frame for outside Mum's door; most of the care home residents have them as an indication of their main life/hobbies. I showed her a few of the one I intended when I last went to see her so I have a pretty good idea of what would work. Going through the family albums is also part of the decluttering process; currently they are in the garage while I'm clearing out my ex- office (making progress albeit slow).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Well done on getting on your PGDE course MMM x5

Congrats to MMM on the course and to the Pollybears for staying the course.
Kitchen cleaned as per promise to DD, because it was raining I couldn’t chuck the mats outside so the were taken into DR and vacuumed. I also cleaned the hallway as that now needs mopping now I no longer have carpet, and the bathroom has been level 3 cleaned too. Went swimming, america’s home to blue sky so swim stiff and washing were pegged out and dried quickly in the warm breeze. Buttons sewn onto baby cardi.Popped into work and put the glass/window cleaner away and got 2 bottles of sanitiser for tables and worktops out. Again. Morning all xx
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch bag, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with no lives lost, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
Yesterday was a bit of a whirl at times. Steady morning. Then P & S came for coffee. Gas man came to service the boiler. I did my Mr Al shop and put it away. J came to drop off Katie Budgie and stayed for a coffee. Then I tootled off to collect....my own budgie!!!!
Yes. I have a new friend. It all happened very quickly. I was contacted by a Macmillan colleague- did I know anyone who could take a budgie? A few messages and phone calls later found me bringing Joey home yesterday. And whilst Katie will be going home tomorrow, Joey is here to stay.
I always said a budgie would have to knock at my door and ask to come in before I'd make up my mind. Joey knocked!
Paid stuff today. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. Then pay the rent and the leccy bill on my home tonight.
Congratulations to MMM, and to Mr & Mrs Pollybear.
Love to all.

Morning all,
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Pollybear. Well done MMM. And welcome to the flypets family, Joey. Clever budgie to knock at Round’s door 😍. That sounds like a less than positive GP experience, Narc0, so opposite to my last one, where I was almost backing out of the door as the doctor chatted. I guess I caught him on a good day. Totally agree, Kaz - we have a lot of “country smells” round here - if you don’t like it, don’t move here.
So yesterday - ta da! - I achieved level one!! Then I carried on and cleaned the sink and the cupboard fronts. Well, a couple of them anyway, as I didn’t want to look too keen. The afternoon was pleasantly spent with the sewing machine as we had un-forecasted rain. Today is bright and breezy, the wm is swishing, I need to wash my hair, then maybe take a trip to the allotment. We are seeing DSiL tomorrow, so she will be getting a veg selection. Mr M is delivering at 2pm, mainly store cupboard stuff to cope with DD’s baking hobby. Which leads to DH’s eating hobby. That should all see the day off nicely, I might even finish making the trousers that I started yesterday.6 -

I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday. Hugs to those who want/need them.6 -
Round totally agree about something knocking at your door, when we lost cat, 3 weeks later the 3 cats moved in, they needed a home together and we could offer it, but really we weren't ready as we hadn't got over loosing cat. I hope Joey and you have a wonderful time.Fayolle, agreed, latest I overheard today while out walking on the seafront, is ' it smells of seaweed and stinks' really you are on the prom, the tide is tossing about in the wind, the seaweed is left on the prom.Life goes onKitchen doneDw has been on, for what ever reason I've been given free elec between 2 and 3pm today, so I'm going to run the cleaning cycle in the dw, hoover, charge anything that needs it, (vax, laptops, torch etc)Small food shop doneBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hello everyone. Welcome to Joey. Hugs, congratulations etc wherever appropriate.
Today, I have done a work shift, watered indoor plants downstairs, from the list the sofa throws have been changed. The originals dried in a couple of hours on the line. It is still very windy here. Admin is up to date and I'm working my way slowly through pension paperwork as DH was worrying we will be poor on full retirement. He needn't have worried. I've also hoovered through, walked Poppet and done dailies. A box of children's books have been sorted and a train set sorted out for charity shop.
oh, and I've been to shops to post parcels.
Wordle in four, connections with no lives lost, strands with no hints. Just about to tackle letterboxed, then I'll relax with my book as there's no exercise class or match today/ tonight.Spend less now, work less later.6
