I’m not sure what other plan I have to be honest..I have to pay something back don’t I? If not they will be harassing me with calls and door visits which I don’t want. I’m thinking a token £10 monthly payment in the hope of getting a decent settlement down the line?

Well, personally I think the sale of debts on the cheap to companies such as Cabot is very wrong, and just mentioning their name leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, but that`s just me.

Some people completely ignore the collection activity, and only engage if they start a court claim, some ignore them regardless, a lot start payment plans via the website, its up to you really.

If you want a quiet life, start a payment plan, otherwise you will get calls/letters etc and you might be one of the 12% of clients that Cabot take to court each year, or, you might not.

Usually its the ones who stay radio silent, and they think that you might be able to pay, but are not doing so.

They can`t take everyone to court, as the system, already overworked, would just be overloaded, I don`t know the exact criteria they use to determine who gets a court claim and who doesn't, it remains a closely guarded commercial secret.
