Important and official stuff comes by post, not by email.Callum1510 said:Thanka how do i know when i have received officia default? Had this letter today from moorcroft and exactly same letter from them about my aqua credit card. I guess just ignore and keep waiting for the default. Can anyone tell me how I know once the default is on my Experian? Is there a certain symbol I look for? Like missed payment is a Red Cross is there one when the account is in default I can look for? Once I see this I can then negotiate with moorcroft a payment plan

When a lender is about to default you, you will or should, get a letter in the post.
It will be clear what it is, it will say something like this:
THIS IS A DEFAULT NOTICE ISSUED UNDER SECTION 87(1) CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1978.
It will go on to tell you:
"you have 14 days to remedy the breach to your account, otherwise a default will be registered with the credit reference agencies".
It will then list the possible consequences of defaulting.
So all of this is just for information purposes only in your case, you don`t need to do anything, just let the process complete, and once the default is registered it will show on the account entry as a big red "D" along with the date it defaulted.
As for the letter above, read it again, it states:
"OUR CLIENT HAS NOT YET REGISTERED A DEFAULT ON THIS ACCOUNT"
They are acting as collection agent only, just as it says in the letter, so the advice is as before, ignore them, they will then return the account to the lender, and then hopefully it will be defaulted.
Sometimes a debt is passed to a collector before default just to collect the arrears, after all they don`t know your intentions, so are trying to keep you as a customer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi guys
received the following…do i continue to wait? Does this mean a default is now registered
Thanks for your help..and fyi I do not own a house (partners house) and don’t really own any goods and my vehicle is in partnership with name too. ThanksWe wrote to you on 24/11/2025 explaining that if you did not comply with the Default Notice that we may terminate the agreement and by doing so, you would be liable for the balance of the total amount payable under the said agreement. As you have failed to comply with the Default Notice, we hereby terminate the agreement and demand immediate payment of the balance of the total amount payable, shown above. We can accept payment through any of the following methods:
• Debit Card (payment made over the phone or via our website www.loans2go.co.uk);
• Cheque (made payable to “Loans 2 Go” at the above address);
• Bank Transfer, quoting your Agreement Number as the reference, using details of:
o Bank Name: Barclays
o Sort Code: 20-00-00
o Account Number: 23034305.
FURTHER SUMS PAYABLE UNDER THE AGREEMENT
Please note that this letter constitutes notice to you that we may now commence proceedings to issue legal proceedings for the recovery of monies owed or if applicable, commence proceedings for the recovery of the security vehicle. If proceedings are issued you will become liable for additional costs involved.
Should obtaining a County Court Judgement (CCJ) be the only remaining method of recovering the money you owe, we may seek to enforce such payments in the following ways:
• Attachment Of Earnings - Contacting your employer and instructing them to make payments directly to Loans 2 Go from your wages;
• Charging Order - Securing the debt against a property you own;
• Warrant of Execution - Instructing a County Court Bailiff to attend your residence and recover goods to the value of the debt owed.
If you wish to settle the outstanding liability and avoid any of the aforementioned actions, please contact us without delay.

Has a default been registered on your credit file?
Is the letter from Moorcroft?
That`s just a threatogram, but normally they offer terms at this point, I`m a tad confused who the creditor is, is it Loans to go or Marbles or are they one and the same?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hey Sourcrates
Happy Christmas
this letter was direct from loans2go. This is one of my 7 creditorz. I have had moorcroft letters for some of my other creditor. Not one of my creditors has yet issued a default on my credit file yet after 3 months now…
i just keep getting letters saying they may issue a default if i don’t get in contact.I suppose i sit and wait for the defaults and then contact them? To arrange a payment plan direct?Thanks mate0 -
Keep your eye on what they send you, as, although quite rare, some lenders will go straight to legal action, and bypass the debt collection process altogether, sometimes its difficult to predict what they will do.
Also keep checking your credit files, once defaults are registered, you are good to go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
