Well, my phone developed an issue so I had to buy a new phone while the other one gets sent off to get repaired. The money will come out of the emergency fund. Hopefully I will be able to sell it when I get the old one back.

I took had an other category until like you i started realising what I was spending it on and setting up new pots. It's good to keep adjusting your budget as you learn more about your finances and spending.

Last year I tracked how much was spent in each category but not individual transactions and so I couldn't really remember what I bought in the "other" category. It's been good being able to look at everything I've spent this year.

Yesterday was a productive day, I jet washed the caravan, fixed a broken bracket on the awning and fixed the front locker, which meant I could finally remove the hazard tape that's been holding the whole thing together. It cost a total of £7.16 for the bolts and a bit of drilling. I also found some work boots with arch support but I can reclaim the money back for them.

I completed another timed 5k in the kayak and came in 3 minutes faster than before, despite the wind, then had coffee with the gang and decided to go for a slow paddle since the kayak was all ready to go.

Yesterday was a spendy day with a haircut and buying some clothes, but since I now have a sinking funds for these, they were all budgeted for.

And a mini IKEA has just opened up in walking distance of me so I bought a boot tray for £2.50 so that when I put the wet kayak in the van it has something to drip onto.

We received an email at work yesterday saying there were a couple of contracts available over winter. I've applied for 40 hours so if I get it, then I'll be in a much better financial position and would be able to fully repay my Mum. I currently have 10 hrs guaranteed which doesn't quite cover my costs.

Thank you. I know one other person is going for it because they "replied all", which I think should automatically remove you from the application process(!)

Well, I didn't get the contract.

I did have a bit of an MSE day at the cinema. I saw 2 films as I had free tickets from a membership I bought a couple of months ago, which was 40% off. I bought tea in the cafe instead of the popcorn and drink combo, and then instead of buying food in the cinema, I went to Gregg's and used a gift card that I received from taking out insurance.
