I'm glad you had 'contact' @Thrifty_Taylor.
How nice for all your offspring to have opinions @grandmanerd. I hope they will be as willing to pitch in if you require their help to move to your next home.
Try to let the anger go about the other houses. It is the past, and neither was right for you. You did well not to get utterly burned by the dilly-dallying of others.
I spent 12 hours yesterday behind a bar in a mahoosive marquee listening to tribute bands. Then got paid in cash, in a brown envelope! How positively retro of me. Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, Green Day, Bon Jovi, Blondie, Foo Fighters and another couple I have forgotten. Oops. Jolly good clean fun!
I think this country has a huge unaddressed drinking problem though. I mean they did not stop drinking once.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm not doing so well at commenting here, but there are some updates / progress I could share
Actually did two small stretches of crafting in the office this weekend and moved the needle-felting project from the day course on a bit
Snug - made a start on clearing down the sideboard, much more to go ...
Garden - tidied and removed dead stuff form the sit spot border (the one we see from where we sit in the evenings) and added a pale purple salvia and a pink astrantia. Not a riot of colour by any meansbut less of eye sore / heart-weight, iyswim.
Health:
- Started on a new foot exercises routine to see if they help my hip which seems to be ridiculously tight and often wakes me.
- Happened across my actual results for my thyroid hormone levels test - they are right at the bottom of 'normal' so have managed to book an appointment for next Wednesday to discuss increasing my dosage.
Gratitudes:
- Got back in the right frame of mind to see work as manageable and within my capability.
- Mr KK got back safely from a steam rally event this weekend where the 2nd day was cancelled due to a fatality ...!
- My sit spot border being kinder on the eye and actually doing some crafting!

@Thrifty_Taylor, that sounds very likely to have been your son 'connecting' with you through the young fox. I'm glad the trip went so well. I hope it brought you all some sense of closure / relief / resolving of actions needed - whatever can apply in circumstances like this.

No notification about my prescription so phoned the chemist and then the doctor's surgery (who each blamed the other, of course). However I persevered and asked if I could collect the pills rather than having them delivered tomorrow (I didn't have one item this morning and have had reduced doses at the weekend - I thought that was safer than having Saturday's pills and nothing on Sunday. Shortly after the phone calls I got a message to say the pills would be available after 5 pm so did there and back by taxis (took a book to read whilst waiting).
Also went to the cash machine to begin rebuilding my small in house cash stash. I am considering back up phone and laptop too - I should order a replacement charger for the old (last) laptop to see if it can be revived.
Clutter fairy recommends splitting your time between tackling new areas and 'maintaining' areas that have already been done. I think I need to apply this to my life. I've been behind for so long that I'm putting my effort into necessary stuff and I need to carve out some time for things I enjoy (being in the garden, going to exhibitions, animal activities) and things I 'aspire' to. I'm making getting my hair cut a priority for this week (before I resort to chopping lumps off) but want to schedule some things for later in the month. Thinking about short bus journeys - not to get somewhere but trips which are scenic).
Grateful for interesting ideas, getting my pills, cheese spread on wraps.8 -
Temperatures going down here. Maybe can get more done. Clutter fairy has been spending too much time adding to the clutter lately. Need to get it down a lot.
Finally totaled up the NSDs for last month - 19. Will aim to do as well this month.6 -
I’m always so impressed with your NSDs folks. I’m carrying on being careful though and it will all help. Can’t remember if I said I’m retiring next year so anything I add to the pot will help
grateful today for lovely students, helpful and kind colleagues, reflections of life on you tube - such powerful stories. Full of kindness4 -
I've slept a lot for the past 2 days - feeling better as it's helping deal with the current lurgy. Mrs Builder came today and cleaned the kitchen and shower room, mopped and pegged all the washing out before asking if she could go home because she didn't feel well (she will do extra next week).
The man brought the pills the pharmacy owed me. I've done some tidying and lots went out to the bins.
Grateful for frozen berries and ice cream, good books, Mrs Builder.6
