Very sore & achy this morning after all the garden work over the weekend. Walked to the village & got a lift to work. Had a good day. We had a couple who brought 2 owls & an American peregrine falcon to school, great excitement in our class & I got to have a turn of the owl on my hand! Have never done that before! Got a lift home from work bestie, thought I'd have to walk 5 miles, but she took me the whole way 😍
Went for a walk & a good catch up with a friend after tea. It was still warm enough to wear shorts.
Grateful for my friends, a warm dry day, my friend Peedie the 🦉Use it up, wear it out

Work went ok apart from an injury midday, very hot afterwards. Got home & lay on the bed to stroke the cat, may have nodded off briefly! Finally updated spends in my folder. Knitted after tea.
Grateful for lifts from friends, a dry day, that my minor accident didn't cause more damage
Happy birthday for tomorrow @beanielou 🎉🎂🥳Use it up, wear it out

I am swimming with you in spirit , Turtle Friends.
1st week of work went well, then I had 4 days off, then back in tomorrow for 2 days.
Checked in with the Music Festival people page on Sunday and saw they need workers this weekend, so people must have pulled out, ot was fully staffed the week before - I applied on the Sunday night and they contacted me on BH Monday before 9am and practically bit my hand off. So I finish job 1 at 9pm on Thursday, and will hop into my car at 7am on Friday to go pitch my tent and start Job 2 at 10am for the next 3 days.
It will take my mind off school returning. Year 11, so I am finally on the downward slope, away from secondary schools forever! It has been such a straightjacket of an experience. One size fits none.
Hair washed and body buffed. Food in the pantry. Work booked in the diary.
❤️ to all and 🫂 to those that need one.

Plodding through another slow day. i've filled the obvious empty spaces and now it's a matter of juggling to make half a drawer here and there (and also plod through a box of assorted items trying to find a category they belong in0.
Grateful for what i have got done, more good drama (one with Patricia Hayes, one with David Jason), food from stores.6 -
@beanielou - Happy Birthday!
@Thrifty_Taylor - Hope there aren't many after-effects of your accident. Even a minor one can cause you to be off-balance for a few days. Sending hugs and hope you take it easy for awhile.6 -
Thanks @weenancyinAmerica. Apart from small bruising, my fingers feel ok today 😀

Work went well, a change in my timetable this afternoon which I really enjoyed, as did the pupils I was with. Had word from my friend's stepson (mechanic) that DS1's cat can be collected tomorrow. Very fitting, as it'll be 4 months since he died. Will be good to have it home again. He can also take a look at my car on Tues, so don't have to wait until the end of next month to get it fixed.
Moved some scaffolding planks when I got home, which were blocking the side of the drive his car gets parked. Then walked to the village & back to collect DH's prescription. Very hot again. Knitted after tea & watched TV.
Grateful for doing over 11,000 steps, a good afternoon with the pupils & lifts to & from work againUse it up, wear it out

I'm getting creative with small spaces. I moved one of the (still boxed) trolleys from the front room to the kitchen, slid it into a different cube and added a trolley tray on top. All the onions came out of their cardboard box and into the mesh tray. The cardboard box was damaged so I broke that up big sides to the paper bin, bottom pieces to rubbish as they were wet. Packed some books in a bag as I may be going to see my grand-daughters at weekend.
Bin bags (rolls) have gone in a metal drawer. I'm hoping diy tools and painting + excess kitchen cleaning will fit in the other metal drawers. All the drinks and cans are now in the cubes under the stairs (rounding up the odd strays).
Washing done (couldn't put it out as it was chucking it down), washing up down, dried and put away and oddments are in the sink. Recycling bags ready to go out. I now have several smaller boxes to re-use (large shoebox size) and some part-filled boxes where items have been taken out and put rehomed.
Just need to juggle and come up with more creative solutions. Not done some of the things on my list as both phones have had to be charged.
Grateful for getting things done, bananas and leftover curry with added veg.6 -
Well done on today's achievements @grandmanerd.
I've had a said day. Got my lift to work, then Head Teacher brought me home. Quite apt on the anniversary of DS's passing that I got his car back & we were finally told we can collect hus phone.
Had my opticians appointment. Still need varifocals, though not as strong as my last pair. I'd hoped that after having both cataracts removed, that I'd only need reading glasses.
Emptied DS's car after tea, so I could put my shopping bags in , ready for the weekend.
Grateful for very supportive colleagues, getting the car back & seeing DS3's excitement (he's inheriting it), & being able to collect the phone next week (though again, no cabins on the boat!)Use it up, wear it out
