Think it is now time to stop keeping on about broken jars of chutney. Those of us who did not get one are a bit sick of hearing about people's 5 or six hampers!!!

    sorry rose28454,
It was an error that made me end up with mine. I do feel a little bit guilty that some people didnt get them. It does make me wonder how much othr stuff does tesco deliver incorrectly? Are they totally useless as they appear to be I wonder.
Better luck next time. there are bound to be other offers that you get that some of us will not be able to spend on now as we have blown our budgets on this one.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Where did you all hear about the offer in the first place? Is there a website I should be looking out for special offers?

I found the original £18.75 price for the Hamper by accident. There was a post on hot deals uk for a John Lewis Hamper. It was still expensive so I went onto Tesco Direct to compare prices .I saw that it had been reduced so I put the post on. The next morning it had been reduced by half again so everyone who was using the original link to buy the Hamper at £18.75 got a nice surprise.

Apart from MSE Forums I use

    http://www.hotukdeals.com

I am sure that there are lots of other sites

    Hope this helps

I also got 'extra' because of a mistake by Tesco CS..I cancelled 3, then re-ordered at the lower price and was told money would be credited back within a couple of days...they then also delivered the ones I had cancelled....NOT only have they c0cked this up, but as of yet no money has been debited from my Tesco Credit card.....despite it being nearly a week ago and other transactions from just yesterday showing up.

Has anyone else checked their card to see if they have been charged?

Wouldn't it be great if they also decided to credit me for the 3 I cancelled, but still received! I would then be about £55 and 6 hampers UP...LOL

    PS...sorry to rub it in.:j

I checked my online banking earlier and they haven't taken any money for the hampers as yet, will keep checking daily.

They have taken my money, but I am still awaiting the refund.

Has anyone else received a refund yet for cancelled orders??

Sorry to those people who missed the offer and do not want to hear from people who got some - but this is a matter of curiosity/law/!!!!ed-off-ness.

I ordered a couple for myself on Friday and contacted my sister about the offer. She wanted a couple too - so I put in an order for her as she couldn't get to a computer. Yesterday I borrowed a car (as mine is only a silly 2 seater) and went to pick them up. Only one order was there. I was told that the other order was lost and I should have been rung up to be told this and refunded. I had not been -either by email or phone.

On return I wrote to Tesco asking how they could manage to lose the hampers from one order (they are individually packed so to lose one is careless but to lose 2 is incompetent) when they would have been on the the same lorry as the other identical order - and they aren't exactly small things which are easily lost.... plus I was not impressed that I was not informed of their delivery problem and borrowed a car unnecessarily.

I suggested that as they had taken payment for the order and then proceded to lose it then I should be entitled to find the same or equivalent items elsewhere and charge them for the difference.

They have come back saying that they are sorry for not contacting me and for the inconvenience but they will not be making the gesture I suggested.

I realise I come across as a grumpy old man but:

    a) if they had contacted me before I went to pick the items up I would not have bothered so much.

    b) I am actually curious as to the law in matters like this. I am sure I have read cases on this forum where people have bought products elsewhere and claimed the difference. Is it law?

    Cheers!
