Ok, someone has to ask the dim witted question - Sim????? Never ordered from Tesco direct before but very vaguely remember that you have to always add a sim card, maybe possible a Tesco value one to get free delivery? Have I got this correct?
A few items I've got to the basket stage but not actually ordeed because of the delivery charge.
Not sure how much a sim is compared to the delivery charge? And then what do you do with the sim - ebay it, swap it with a friend????
So its always worth having a sim in the basket ready for when you do a proper order?

Mine just arrived, it had obviously had a fairly rough journey as the cranberry sauce lid had moved and leaked a bit of the contents, plus the tins were well dented. I would have been very upset had I paid £50 but at £9.37 I'm not complaining! I needed a new sim as well anyway!

Be careful when opening as the shredded stuff inside goes everywhere!

Guess what , my 2 cancelled and refunded hampers and sim have just arrived  I will keep them wrapped up in case they try to charge me . Don't mind paying the lesser price but if they want the higher they can have them back.
Never pay more than you have too

    Hi there -

Yes, add a SIM card for £2.94 instead of paying delivery of £4.85. I went for a Virgin one as I have a Virgin mobile contract, but not sure what I will do with it. There is quite a choice: O2, Tesco's own, Virgin etc. I read some peeps use it to enter competitions, or you could sell it or give it away.

    Good luck!

I don't think so, but you could choose to have it delivered to a store and pick it up rather than pay the delivery charge.
I think that's what people are referring to.

I would go for the Virgin Sim if you have an unlocked phone (ie you can put any sim in it and it will work).

It costs £2.94 for the sim which will get you free delivery BUT at the moment, if you register your sim at virginmobile.co.uk you will get a £2 credit loaded onto it and will be able to get 2 free downloads.

    http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/home.do

So delivery would be £4.85 but you pay £2.94 instead for the sim saving you £1.91 but you get £2 credit on the sim.

    :)

How long did it take for the refund to show up in your account...they told me it might be a couple of days.....no sign of mine yet...but no money taken out for the hampers either!

Sorry cheffy, I meant my Tesco account, not bank account, I have just checked my online banking and nothing showing yet.

Hubby's tucking into a pack of the butter biscuits as I type :D

I always get the Tesco value sim for £5 it comes with £10 credit, I just put it in my unlocked phone, very handy at the moment because I'm having to make lots of calls to Italy.
