They are pretty useless but you should get the company details and report them here!

Your sister can ask her Mobile company for the contact details of the 'company' who are sending the text. Remember if she is being reverse charged her Mobile company is taking about 30%.
Have you the "web address" details.? Was there a five digit short code with the message or any other info?0 -

We don't have the web address as she deleted the last message but I have asked her to tell me when she gets the next one. ThanksGordon Brown ate my hamster0 -
Seriously consider registering with the TPS, I did just over a month ago due to stupid marketing calls morning, noon & night, they stopped within days & I haven't had a single one since.Winnings

The TPS can accept the registration of mobile telephone numbers, however it is important to note that this will prevent the receipt of marketing voice calls but not SMS (text) messages. If you wish to stop receiving SMS marketing messages, please send an 'opt-out' request to the company involved.0 -

of course this is very convenient for fraudsters who want to commit mass market telecom fraud with a list of acquired mobile numbers.
You can register a mobile with TPS contrary to what I thought before I asked the question, as we just did this but it says it can take up to 28 days to be fully activated.Gordon Brown ate my hamster0 -
Vodafone has VSPAM does orange have something similar??
Basically on Vodafone you can forward a text message to VSPAM (which uses the correct numbers on the key pad and they then look in to the site that is sending the spam stuff
Hi Murtle - just looked into this and Orange do have a similar thing -
http://www1.orange.co.uk/about/contact/spam/#receive
This suggest forwarding the messages to 7726 but just went through this with my sister and the message she currently has on the phone does not allow her to forward it. We have just sent orange an email stating this and will see what we get in reply but my sister did ring Orange and she said the lady she spoke to in India did not understand exactly what my sister was saying and she found it frustrating.Gordon Brown ate my hamster0 -

Getting to the bottom of this now -
On the latest message she received we do have the web address and there is a five digit number near the front of the address.
I have typed the address into my browser but it comes up all goobledygook.
My sister is only being charged when she opens the texts so its not a reverse charge and I have just googled the company in question (clqt.com) and apart from one page with all the hit statistics for Dec 07, I could not find a contact address/number as would be expected by these herberts.Gordon Brown ate my hamster0 -
you sure thats the right address? its a blank domain and a whois search only comes up with .net and .org not .com,
maybe someone know whos more can figure it out but if the domain is registered is should show up on the whois site who should say who has registered itYes Your Dukeiness0 -
