Afternoon all,
I have been absent for a couple of weeks, skimmed through the threads, and obviously forgotten most of it so hugs, sticks and spoons at the ready as required.
Like many of us, I don’t operate well in heat, so flying took a back seat. Then DH and I were struck down with gastroenteritis. As expected, he had it far worse than me ( rolling eyes emoji here ), took a week to recover as opposed to my Let’s Get This Thing Beaten approach after 48 hours ( who else otherwise would have been able to drive him to A&E and collect him at 3am - more rolling eyes…). Slinky benefitted but that method wasn’t really sustainable. DH miraculously recovered in time to people last weekend, then we were off to the uni city for DD’s graduation. Back yesterday, and she and bf are now away for a few days.
So today I am trying to get back in the game, after only managing to keep on top of the washing, and most of the ironing, as well as keeping the allotment and gh watered. Whole house dusted, a fair attempt at vacuum cleaning if you don’t look at the skirting boards, and bathroom has been s&s. Downstairs toilet is ripped out, ready for the builders to start on Monday. As for the weather - we have grey, warm, but none of the promised rain beyond about 10 drops. But we do have a hosepipe ban. That doesn’t affect me in that I water with cans. But we have had 2 water leaks spouting water in the village, one for 6 months and one for 3 months, which have only just got sorted, after much complaining to said water company by many residents.Onwards and upwards - ironing is on the fly list for this afternoon.6 -

Broad beans finally potted on, tomatoes picked, cucumber picked, nastursiums in the communal garden ripped out and all the seeds saved. Some I've planted, some I've scattered in the shrubbery, some I've chucked into one house's lightwell (should have asked first if she wanted them but couldn't be bothered) and washing up done.I'm hoping like made that the forecast is right and we get 24 hours of rain because the waterbutt is completely empty and the garden really needs it.

I got through my list today:
- Mr N helped me put the last 4 cucumber plants in the growbag as I didn't want to lift anything heavy; sowed a few seeds I found in a drawer which had come from Mum's (runner beans straight into wet ground - yes yippee we had a lot of rain; verbena in a pot; French marigolds next to the sweet corn). Watered tomatoes and aubergines.
- loaded Kindle up with reading material
- packed
- changed fuel tariff as our gas and electric tariff runs out at the end of the month
- made enough chilli for tonights's dinner and to take for tomorrow's. Ditto plum crumble.
- Mr N went to nearby wild plum trees and picked a bag ful which I stoned to freeze while he was washing up.
- signed and addressed stepbrother's birthday card as it needs to be posted while we're away. Put a spare stamp in my bag so I can send a postcard to Mum.
- checked route, traffic infor and weather forecast.
- I'd already listed what food we need to take, so I gathered it together while Mr N packed it as he's got better spatial awareness than me.
- checked that neighbour is ok to water the greenhouse while we're away. Fortunately for the rest of the garden, it rained a lot today and more is forecast so she won't need to do pots etc.
Plan is to leave the house at about 10am so Mr N can load the car while I do a final fly round, empty bins etc .

Morning all
Had a fantastic walk with my rambling group yesterday, such a boost especially as I was nervous doing the 50 minute slightly tricky drive to get there. The rain really set in for the last hour, despite my expensive hi tech waterproofs I was wet through literally to my skin.
So, today, DH is at work and I have compiled a list which includes making fish pie, getting car insurance quotes, updating finance spreadsheets, printing photos for my album, washing dog blankets and giving the kitchen a proper clean. It should be dry until mid afternoon according to the forecast.
Have a good Sunday all x

Morning all,
After yesterday’s flying effort, today will be just a few odd jobs. The temperature has dropped overnight, so I might rouse myself to do some baking later. Other jobs on the list include meal planning (looking at you, courgettes), clean the kitchen sink, email an elderly friend to sort out a date to meet up and finish my book. Admin made a brief appearance on the list but unsurprisingly I found a way to delay it. Very pleased with myself for sorting out DD’s car tax and insurance renewal before we went away last week. Thank you to another flylady who egged me on the do it a bit at a time, so that I cleared the frog.
Have a lovely holiday, Narc0.6 -
Morning all. Hope you are doing okay.
Poppet has been walked and I'm just having breakfast.
Yesterday I didn't do any more flying but got rid of stuff on line so that counts.
Wordle in four today. I need to hoover through and mop floors today. We have family over from Monday to Wednesday and both babies are now crawling.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
I'm a very hit and miss gardener Narco, largely because I'm not careful about it. I've never managed to grow anything successfully from seed so I buy starts at the garden centre and shove them in pots because that's all we have at the back, and if they grow I'm delighted. Mostly they don't. I'm okay with geraniums and mint, the rest is hit and hope. Unfair to plants, really. Today I really must hoick out a weedy climber to ram into another pot with a honeysuckle already in it that's rampaging about but not where it should be, and tie in some tomatoes that are triffding all over the place. I only buy mini cherry tomato starts now as I've not been successful with anything bigger, and three dwarf plants have done well on the only window sill we've got, which happens to be an outside one on a south facing wall.Wordle in three, Strands was fine, and only one line on Connections so far and that's about normal. Hopeless. And I really should sweep and wash the kitchen floor. The broom has been in there a week, so I've sort of started ....Better is good enough.6

🐸 alert - must sort out some paperwork & my passport which I need for later in the week. Unfortunately, most of it is in 'my' cupboard of doom.
I had sorted/decluttered it a couple of years ago but it has returned worse than ever. The door doesn't even close properly! 😌 I reckon it's a 3 day job😱
Will make a start once I've finished this ☕️
