tummy ache has returned. I’m wondering about trying probiotic drinks. and i shall buy prunes.
Had SD for tea last night (guest not consumption). did salmon, salad, new pots. Thanks to conversation he started pointed out sis isn’t as wealthy as she appears…f’rinstance they have mortgages in all their properties. I am mortgage free. He seems to have (a) a downer on her and (b) some twisted notion about the distribution of mums estate according to need not her wishes.
Happy belated birthday Jazee

Morning all. Had a bit of a lie in. Back to paid stuff tomorrow.
Wordle in six, two lines on connections and strands with no hints.
I am planning to fly this morning but first I need to shower and take Poppet out before the forecast rain.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all xx
Hope you're feeling better now Valli and that you managed to get some sleep.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in five, completed Connections with one life lost, and I'm supping my first brew.
Flying today will be fitted around visiting Pops this morning (after calling at the Co-op for a newspaper for him) and a trip out to the posh farm shop cafe for coffee and cake with L this afti.
Ooo. If I walk to Co-op I can drop off some books at the Little Library on the way. Sounds like a plan - and that'll be another thing crossed off my list.
Other items scheduled for today are:
Wash my comb
Hoover the back of the fridge
Have a good day. Going to be a tad cooler here today 🤞

Was too tired to post last night….the list had to wait until I hah had some sleep. So, here's a linky to the café where I ate every day and lunch was always the Superfood Salad. It came in a deep bowl and had a goodly sized serving spoon of each salad, and was finally topped with a squiggle of green leaves and peashoots, and then either hummus or feta (I love cheese) so it could be vegan or vegetarian - I'm neither but I love good vegetarian food and this was quite exceptional. I heartily recommend their brownies, too.So my plan is to replicate that salad bowl as closely as I can and have one every day at the moment. I've created a list of all the things that would go with the original base of theirs that I could add to change it up a bit so it isn't exactly the same every day but that's what I want for lunches from now on as it's the meal I struggle with the most. I happened to buy a mandolin in France (the kitchen thing, not the musical insturment) because one of the things I noticed about why it was such a wonderful feast was the textures of the salads, cut really thinly. The seeds are also essential, but I don't need them toasted. Very little dressing on any of them, I didn't see or taste any mayonaise, and strangely when I had it as a takeaway on the last day to eat on the train coming home I noticed a smell of peanuts when I lifted the lid, and given that there are no peanuts in it I reckon they use peanut oil to dress at least one of them. Lots of premade salads in the fridge and choices to be had in the future every day. Lovely.Because of the number of interruptions I had yesterday I only managed the slaw and the curried potato/cauliflower/chickpea ones and neither is perfect but I'll learn as I go and what I made was entirely edible and delicious. I got interrupted while I was dealing with the cauliflower and it should only have been blanched and not cooked, so that kind of thing is fixable. I also think I could taste fennel or dill in the original but I can't work out where that was and I didn't taste any basil oil in the original but as I love pesto I can find a way to add that to something in a minute quantity somewhere. Happy days. We're now self-sufficient in tomatoes, a point I love reaching every year, so tomaotes will be featuring heavily here and I finally made it to Mr M for their cheapest black olives after my tip run, and for the first time ever I've had a shot at growing cucumbers and I'm delighted to say that we've already had two and a third is on the way. All good salady crunchy mixed flavoured stuff. So today, back into the kitchen, onwards with salads, a lentil thing I'm making for the first time that looks interesting and a useful addition I found on the Tube of You, and some chocolate pots for desserts. I have had several shots at that and still need to perfect the recipe. Such hardship!Dusting will have to wait, but I may sweep and wash the kitchen floor because I appear to be a very messy cook.Better is good enough.6 -
Morning all
Am still feeling a bit wonky & discombobulated with all mine & mum's appointments, scans, physio, cough & sore throat etc. Also, we're coming up for 2 years since we lost my lovely, funny, bonkers lil' sis and I found out yesterday that her hubby D's cancer may have returned & spread to his liver. Having bloods, biopsies and a thousand (feels like) other tests over the next few weeks.
Deep breath..... I'm fitting in flying when I can

Our water rates went up 50% this year, Kazwookie. I think a lot of people are going to feel a lot worse off sooner rather than later if this kind of price hike becomes the norm.Did a bit of vacuuming of the worst bits, but I've run out of steam now.Better is good enough.5
