Like all the others, I have had my complaint rejected by the Ombudsman. Clearly the FOS is not fit for purpose.
So I am currently in the process of switching to a Barclays business account.
However today I received a strange email from Santander saying:-
"We've been told by Companies House that an objection has been raised to your company dissolving. You have an outstanding balance on account number ending xxxx. This needs to be paid before your company can dissolve.
Please log on to Online Banking for help and to see what your options are using the link below."
The email is genuine (all my details correctly shown).
I do have a small amount left to pay on a bounce back loan. But as a sole trader I am not registered at Companies House, and I am not dissolving my business.
Only thing I can think of is that is that this is a result of switching the account to Barclays, however that shouldn't affect the BB loan as the direct debit will simply transfer to Barclays.
Has anybody else had a similar thing happen?

Double post. Sounds like a scam though.

Don't use the 'link below' they offered you! It's clearly not a genuine email from Santander.

Thanks - yes I will assume it's a scam, have forwarded it to their phishing address.

FOS and the FCA lean towards consumer bias, just because they have disagreed with some people on here doesn't mean they are not fit for purpose. If anything, the ludicrous rulings on DCA and PPI (retrospectively applying legislation to old sales not done under said legislation) highlights the pro-consumer angle
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Out of curiosity, what was the date on people's final response letters from Santander vs. the date they actually received the letter? Mine was dated 2nd October 25 but not received until about 21st November - conveniently just before the 56 days response deadline was about to run out. Just wondering if this is a general symptom of Royal Mail or perhaps a sign of 'institutional delay' by Santander if it happened to lots of others.
