  • I have a Waitrose order coming today, not very MSE.

I have 4 mini tins of beans in the cupboard so will eat them with toast for lunch at the weekend and a couple of dinners.

I have 4 or 5 yellow sticker pork loins in the freezer, they make a lovely tea with some rice and freezer veg. I also have about 10 portions of fish, ditto.

Must make the courgette lasagna, maybe tonight. I think I will griddle the courgettes rather than grate and fry. Lots and lots of Parmesan on it! I may need to pop to the shops for lasagna sheets and one more tub of ricotta as I ate one.

Courgette risotto here for those dealing with a glut Rachel Roddy’s recipe for courgette, goat’s cheese and lemon risotto | Rice | The Guardian I will be making this as I have a lot of risotto rice in my cupboard. Also dried mushroom risotto as I have some dried mushrooms.

Beans on toast for brekkie today I think. Otherwise I can see me never using them.

I have fresh ingredients for cauliflower and potato curry, lemon spaghetti, pesto. So that's next week's food sorted.

Need to buy one more tub of ricotta and some decaf coffee.

I'm going to do a Waitrose shop for 31st July. I will put goats cheese on it.

Now that you've mentioned beans, I have a hankering for beans on toast for lunch! It's been so warm recently i've just stuck with sandwiches, but with the (glorious!) rain today, I definitely fancy something warm 😋

I forgot to get the fish for our tea out of the freezer, so will pull something together with cupboard odds and ends instead. We have some chickpeas, so it could be a chickpea curry instead of fish curry!

  • I made courgette lasagne last night. I have a shop coming 31st July, really going to run the freezer down in between then and now.

I have a bag and a bit of plain flour, need some ideas about what to do with that.

Muffins and pastry are what I use my plain flour for the most. There must be a recipe for some sort of courgette tart?

  • I found a lovely Ottolenghi recipe for kimchee pancakes that uses plain flour so I’m going to try that and maybe make some banana bread for work as that uses plain flour. Not particularly money saving but both will hopefully be delicious.

  • I have shifted my next supermarket delivery back a week to give me time to really clear the freezer. Then I’ll concentrate on the cupboard.
