Old school digital camera to desktop.
All I get is black box pop up with no content from camera.
Same issue with previous PC, which had been working ok re uploading pics.
Any ideas please?

What make and model of camera?
What format are the images in?
Are you trying to use the camera’s software to view the images?
Is there any reason you can’t just pull the memory card from the camera and copy the images across to your computer from there?
PS This should probably be moved from banking to the Techie Stuff forum1 -
When you open File Explorer on a computer with the camera connected does it appear in the list of connected drives/device under This PC?
If yes, can you navigate to the folder that holds your photos?1 -
Perhaps this needs moving from the budgeting and bank account section as it’s not relevant to this section of MSETime is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1

In settings, I removed the camera & reinstated it, still no luck, all I get when I connect the camera, is a black square with the pictures icon top left. I`ve tried several SD cards.
I had the same issue with the previous computer, also Windows 10 & running on Edge.
It also refused to connect me to Farcebook, stating I needed Java Script(if my memory serves). I was unable to replace the outdated setup for some reason0 -

When the cable is connected to the PC, do you see the camera in File Explorer?
What software are you using to transfer the photos ? (Name of software)0 -
OP should try installing Linux Mint0

Could be a dodgy data cable, or the camera is goosed.
But if the "camera" is showing up in Windows explorer and the "thumbnails" are all black, then it usually can be a corrupted icon cache or outdated camera driver. Both are easily fixable0
