Oops sorry, of course, I got the quote mixed up with post!
Thank you anyway.
going to try it now, strike while the iron's hot as they say. About how long does it take to rise?0 -
maypole, it is a Panasonic I use for the recipe. In fact it is in the Panny recipe book as Foccacia (using only white flour) but, about 2 years ago, I decided to try it as 'normal' bread due to the small number of ingredients required and I liked the fact that there was no sugar or Vit.C. I keep meaning to try it in its original form, making it flat and adding oil and herbs. Maybe one day I'll get around to it! [By the way, I use 1.5 tsp of salt per 600g flour -thats why I said 1-2 tsp as it depends on your tastebuds. I also sometimes add seeds - linseeds. sunflower or pumpkin]0

Thank you organic wanabe
Well I was just getting everything ready to make it, only to find my yeast was out of date:o so I will have to wait until tomorrow now.
I find that when I bake in the BM the bread is a bit chewy so this seems like a good alternative.0 -
I got a bread maker for my birthday, which was yesterday. Somehow, I have managed to get through a loaf and a half. The bread is the nicest I've ever tasted!
I did have a bread maker before, but my new one is so much better. It's a Morphy Richards. I'm actually looking forwards to taking sandwiches to work tomorrow!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Made me smile when i read this. As if youre a little thick like i was one time (im sure members of the family would say a few more times than that ) you could read that as if you put in the bin bag, then after 30 minutes into the oven to bake while still in the bin bag. Can you imagine that
When i first made popcorn from kernels in a saucepan ( i was still a teenager i think so lets me off a bit) my mum wrote out the instructions of what to do step by step. What she didnt write down though was to put the lid on the saucepan . So yes there i was trying to catch all this popcorn that was getting thrown out the saucepan across the kitchen :rotfl: . No, i still didnt put the lid on as i assumed there was reasons not to otherwise she would have written it down.0 -
ahhh, flying popcorn, one of the best laughs of my life
.... as a young student, didn't know NOT to take teh lid off to see how it was doing :eek::eek:

I made the bread in your recipe and cooked it in the oven and the texture is much nicer than baking it in the bread maker. I just did half quantities.
It was quite hard when it came out of the oven, but I just covered it closely with a tea towel and it softened, not too much though, as I like a bit of crustiness. It was easy to cut too. I think next time I will add some flavourings too. :j0 -
I've made that recipe again today, did one white, one granary and both are lovely! :j trying a cheesy one next... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Which flour do you use for the Granary loaf please, can you buy granary flour?0 -
Maypole, I used Hovis Granary flour, bit espensive but very nice; I usually do half granary and half white... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
