Thought I’d do a quick update on my snug tariff now I’ve had it a few weeks
I definitely need the afternoon boost it gives , my heaters are cooler by the 4 pm time slot
however , my new heater in the bedroom is so much better then the living room one , I only have this one half way on the input dial at the min , that might change as the colder weather is on its way
my bills are a lot cheaper then Edf as well , the 9 p off peak makes so much difference to the bill
octopus customer service is miles better as well , so I am happy I changed to them8 -
Does the afternoon boost provide sufficient enough top up for your old style heaters? I think my living room would still be cold in a morning on the coldest of days of winter with only a 6 hours charge as I still have to top up for the final hour with a fan heater on E7. I've just initiated a switch to UW to make use of their extremely cheap rate. Just waiting for it to go through, hopefully before it turns cold next weekend. I've not needed the heating on yet.Rosie1001 said:Thought I’d do a quick update on my snug tariff now I’ve had it a few weeks

Yes… the boost is great and definitely enough to see me through until bedtime .. I am early to bed thou
might not suit a later to bed household3 -
Before the clocks changed in March those on Snug were getting a 3pm to 4pm cheap hour. So it will be interesting if it goes back to that time when the clocks change next weekend.Rosie1001 said:Yes… the boost is great and definitely enough to see me through until bedtime .. I am early to bed thou

Morning
now the clocks went back , I get my afternoon boost at 3.09 pm for a hour
working really well for us as I can put dryer on and cook main meal as we eat around 4.45 pm most days anyway
my bills are certainly better on snug , but more importantly my home is warm …
so it’s a winner for me this winter 🥶13 -

Try to shower at off peak if you can. 7.2kW is on the lower power scale of electric showers.1
