Today it happened to me. WPS you now need to log in (All the headers have gone, File, data etc. in stead you are offered to sign in (usually followed by get your cheque book out).

I need a free, compatible software. No i don't wish to sign in, i get enough junk mail already.

Any recommendations, please?

Take a look at Mozilla's OpenOffice suite of software, all zero-cost.

Free Google online apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides etc) needs Google account
Free MS Office online, needs MS account
Free Libre Office (not sure what it needs these days)

or why not pay Kingsoft the £1.88/mth if you value their product and want to carry on using it?

Another option is Softmaker Free Office. (There's a paid version too, but the free one does everything that most will need).

Libre Office is a solid choice, can't really go wrong with that.

I second that.  Moved there over two years ago and was amazed all my Visual Basic macros worked too!
