Yes, the Cloudflare timeouts are now replaced with 504 "Vanilla" timeouts and occasional un-dismissable-popups that say a connection failed between Cloudflare and Vanilla. Definitely still broken.

I'm a web developer who looks after several busy sites. This problem bears the hallmarks of a server that's overloaded - possibly through malicious attacks which are always a problem, or it could be that organic growth in traffic is placing too much load on the server(s).

The Cloudflare service can provide mitigation for overloading as well as stopping (not all, though) malicious traffic. The increase in "Prove your human" challenges of late might reflect an effort in reducing automated malicious traffic.

Perhaps someone needs to spend a bit more on the servers hosting the site though.

What is up with the  speed of the forum - the whole thing is so slow - like swimming in thick syrup - it takes me a good 30 seconds to log in and from that point it slows down to a crawl !!

have had a few days of it trying to decide if I was human every time I clicked on a link - thankfully that has resolved

I've not experienced this slowness.  Possibly down to cookies/cache in your web browser.  Maybe try a different web browser.  I'm using Brave browser on linux at the moment.

Yet another check to see if I'm human then a message telling me that I am blocked. Log out and back in and I'm back in.

Still running very slow.
