Morning everyone.
Yesterday I bathed Poppet and made good progress weeding and planting in the back garden. Hoping to do more this morning before we go to see DS and family as it's Father's Day.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, turned over the calendars, taken my meds, set towels and tea towels swishing, and I'm supping my first brew.
I visited Pops in hospital last night. On iv antibiotics plus two drips: fluids and pain killers? CT scan on his pancreas didn't reveal anything so he's waiting for a another scan - on gallbladder. Surgeon said this is good as, at 90 years old, Pops would only have a 20% chance of surviving the operation to remove his pancreas 😱 Let's pray that nothing needs removing! Anyhoo. I'll visit him again this evening and we're having Father's Day when he comes home.

Morning all. I wrote a comment yesterday but forgot to post it. Blame the grasshopper mind.
I had made myself a little list and managed to achieve all of it except taking Rosie for a walk, because she had a bit of a tummy upset and temporarily went off her food and drink. Fortunately she had recovered by bedtime and seems to be her normal self this morning.
Another thing has been crossed off my Toots list, as I finally got round to re-painting the strip of emulsion down the side of the front door frame which periodically cracks and peels off because DH slams the door!
DH rang his DSis yesterday to check where she wanted to meet us tomorrow for a catch-up as we pass through London, but unfortunately she is not very well and can't leave the house at present, nor does she want us to go there because DBiL is going through a bad stage mentally and refuses to see a doctor. It's very difficult to know how we could help them long-term. DH has never been particularly close to his DSis, and we've never lived near enough to visit regularly, so I have hardly got to know them since DH first introduced me to them 16 years ago. At least yesterday's phonecall had one positive outcome: DSis was very interested to hear about our holiday plans and said that she would love to see photos. Until recently she only had an old mobile just for phone calls (DBiL used to work for BT but is a technophobe!) and I hadn't realised that she now has a smartphone and happily uses WA, so I can send her pictures every day while we're away. From what I know of her, DSis's interests are much closer to mine than to DH's, so I won't need to take photos of every train that we ride on
Today was going to be just my packing and cleaning day, but now DS1&co are coming for the evening meal, so I have to fit in some cooking that will allow for one vegan, one vegetarian and 4 carnivores. Fortunately I have a tried and tested menu that solves the problem and satisfies everyone.
Best get moving. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday xxx
ETA: At 90, Father's Day can be any day. Get well soon Pops x and (((hugs))) to round x

Cuddles with Poppy made me feel much better. But she didn't want me to leave her - so I feel guilty for sneaking out.
Having a coffee. Then nipping to town to pick up my prescription and ask if my DB's prescription is ready. He was told it was ready to collect on Friday. It wasn't. Nor was it ready on Saturday before he set off on holiday. So he's gone away with sky high blood sugar levels and no pills. His parting words to the pharmacist? If I die it's on you.
And breathe.....

1. Make a patio area to relax outdoors
2. Move the kitchen around and install a DW, as we still do it by hand, but it would free up more time for us as a family, especially if all goes to plan and I return to full-time work.
3. Redecorate DS's room and get him a desk and chair as he moves to big school after the summer
4. Finish sorting the car so it will hopefully pass MOT in a couple of weeks, and look for a newer car before my new adventure starts
They are all projects that we can work on ourselves, but they will take time and a bit of shopping to get some bits and pieces.
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, whatever you have been doing. I'm off to relax some more with DD and get an early night before a busy week starts tomorrow.6 -

More 'archive' stuff retrieved from mum's hoard. I'm currently wearing my grandad's signet ring (got his initials on so I know it's his) and we've decided who the staid couple ar ein the very old photograph which I was on the verge of binning. When my sisters were at uni they wrote to mum. Mum saved the letters...she even numbered them sequentially. I will be removing stamps from envelopes for charity the shredding them...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
