Thank goodness Valli.
I am just having a cuppa before returning to paid stuff but since this morning's shift I have done dailies, walked Poppet, put two wash loads on airer (because the scaffolders arrived a day late and have just left without finishing), hoovered most of house and swapped things in drawers in bedroom from old furniture which is being collected tomorrow to our new stuff.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Excellent news Valli6

Huge congratulations Valli. I'm delighted for you and will be doing a happy dance with Belovéd later to celebrate your great news.I remembered to take the fleece off the areas of the grass where I've reseeded because the chap was due to mow either today or tomorrow so the neighbour can set up his gazebo for his 70th birthday party on Saturday. Glad I did it this arvo because the chap's outside right now mowing it. I counted all the pegs in so they won't butter up his mower blades. It was bucketing down earlier so I'm surprised he didn't give it another 24 hours. There are still bald areas but I've done the best I can in time for the birthday celebrations.Working on some Foodbank stuff because there was a fortnight's work to do and it's been very busy.Better is good enough.6

Brilliant news Valli you made me smile after a rubbish day.
I have been soo cold all day, I came home to change onto fleece lined leggings, big socks and thick woolly jumper. Plus a thermal top which I was already wearing. I am also feeling tired and generally a bit bleugh. Work is difficult, lots of problems. Sigh.
DH came home early from his fishing trip to make me my favourite veggie shepherds pie for tea, he's so good to me.
Flying has been very minimal but I don't have much paid stuff to do tomorrow. Nearly weekend.

That is such good news, Valli - and one less ball for you to have to juggle. Celebrate well!
I took Rosie out for a walk this morning, and should have gone shopping for various bits and pieces this afternoon, but thunderstorms were forecast and I thought it was unfair to leave Rosie on her own, so I chickened out. In the end, there were no thunderclaps and not a great deal of rain: the sun is shining now, and I shall still have to water the pots this evening. I have time to go shopping tomorrow, so no great harm done.
To make up for a lazy afternoon I have just hoovered all through upstairs, using the older cylinder Dy$0n. Even though it was already upstairs (stored in the eaves loft), I found it very heavy to lift and awkward to manoeuvre, so now I'm seriously thinking of sending it to a new home via Freecycle or similar. The stick Dy$0n which I keep downstairs is much lighter, especially if I dismantle it and bring the parts upstairs separately (or in separate hands).
DH has got sciatica, or maybe it's his bad hip playing up. Perfect timing, as usual - we go away on Monday. Having been in pain for over a week, he finally rang the surgery this morning to find that they have introduced a new system: fill in an online form (or the person answering the phone will fill it in for you) and then wait to be triaged: they will either call you back with a time for a phone appointment or ask you to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment. He has to go in person at 08.30 tomorrow. Ho-hum.
I'd better go and get a meal on the table. Will catch up again later xxx4 -
Thanks all. nice to have something positive to share.
Have cleaned kitchen and mopped the hallway - I’m loving the amtico in there and we are now a ‘no shoes’ house. DR needs doing but i’m having a break from decorating. DR will also be amtico - good job I like mopping floors. Used zoflora in my mop bucket (to use it up, really) and DD commented on the fragrance.
Towelsline dried -we did have a shower but I didn’t notice and left them out. they were dry. Taken cards for floral tribute to florist and filled car up as Mr M is next door.

Morning all xx
It's Friyayyyyyy 🥳
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, turned over the calendars, packed my lunch, taken my meds, eaten breakfast, and I'm supping my brew.
I'll feed the birds, put out the recycling, and top up the bird bath before I set off for the paid stuff.
The top shelf of the shoe rack is now minus:
phone ear buds - binned
a large screw - from the kitchen table? (Kept to one side awaiting further investigation )
a paper bag with handles - put in the bag of bags.
And today the small extension cable reel will find a new home. 🐘🥄
Have a good day. Stay hydrated its going to be twot today.
