Afternoon all - thanks for the supplies of sticks. I've availed myself of a few to distract the dogs
My regular bad dreams usually involve needing to use my mobile urgently but unable to key in the number correctly, over & over, then resorting to using an old-style dial telephone which I can't use because of enormous sausage fingers!
I did go through a phase of waking up shouting & screaming but that seems to have calmed down
Apart from that, it's all OKish 😯
Today
✔️Opened wndows
✔️Aired & remade bed
✔️WM x1
✔️DW x1
Our front 'garden' is weed-city central, so we spent an hour or so out there this morning. Might do some more after lunch.
Rest of the day will be FUPA the huge pile of clean doesn't-need-ironing pile and yesterday's actually-done-the-ironing pile.
Plus S&Sing and PUPA
Reciprocal sticks, hugs, spoons & vibes to all

Afternoon everyone.Yesterday I cleaned the kitchen, including bleaching the sink and washing-up pad. (I know that was yesterday but I didn't want to miss out on any flying credit. This morning A had a call booked with a hospital consultant between 12.00 and 12.30. She rang at 20 past 10 though and he was in the bathroom and I was in the bedroom and thought the phone I could hear was outside so we missed the call. She rang again at 12.15 but somehow the call was cut off before she had said anything. She rang back 30 mins later and we finally got to speak to her. A wants one of his meds changed as he believes it is causing his tremor. She took onboard what we said but there is to be case conference next week to discuss it and so she couldn't agree there and then to change it back to what he used to be on. You would think a consultant would be able to decide themselves on a change from one commonly-used med to another wouldn't you?Flying: I've taken a bag of recycling down; emptied the kitchen bin and took the rubbish down; given the bathroom a mini-clean (basin, lav, mirrors and floor); put away an ocado order; and WUPA the breakfast and lunch pots. I've also popped to the shops for some bread and the paper and sent an email to someone who lived in one of the other flats, who moved a few weeks ago, to let her know that another piece of post has arrived for her. Why people don't set-up a re-direction for their post is beyond me.A now wants me to accompany him on his stair exercise after which it will be time to make tea and then maybe I can watch a bit of the tennis from Queen's.Last night and this morning I drafted an email to my MP with a reasonably detailed argument, with links, for why I believe he should vote against the Assisted Dying Bill at Report Stage. I expect I've wasted my time as he seems to be very much in favour of it but at least I tried. The letter 'a' on the keyboard of my laptop is not functioning correctly. When I depress it, it registers less than 50% of the time and I have to press it again, which is very annoying. The laptop is only about 9 months old but I don't want to have to take it back to John Lewis for them to send off for repair and not see it for weeks. I don't know what the answer is really.9

Cloth_of_Gold have you tried lifting/removing the key and checking there’s no dirt under?
well today has not gone to plan, other than HHI and drying washing I’ve not flown, though I fully intended to. Instead I have been distracted/diverted by various minor emergencies. By the time I was back on track it was gone 5.
Though I did take stepdad to Mr L and he doesn’t have a loyalty card so i used mine.

Today I have done WMx2, but didn't hang it out until after J the gardener had been, so it's still out and waiting for the promised 25 degrees heat tomorrow.
Having visited my computer man, I eventually managed to get my new computer set up to my satisfaction, but not until after another phonecall to ask how to make the icons and font bigger on the tabs and rulers. I have very good vision with my glasses on, but I could hardly read the tab headings, and I couldn't find the right pathway to rectify the problem. In case anyone's interested, it's right click on the home page, select Display Settings, then adjust the scale. Easy when you know how!
I've also done a food shop to see us through the next few days
I was amused to see that DS2 had posted on the Dull Men's Club FB group today. He texted me this evening to say that they'd been to DGS3's parents' evening (he's in Y7, so everything has been a steep learning curve this year) and that every teacher had given a glowing report of his work. A year ago we were all quite worried about how DGS3 would cope - he appeared quite overwhelmed with the prospect of going to secondary school, and not least of having to catch a bus at 7.30 every morning - but since September he has taken everything in his stride and grown into a cheerful and confident young man
Tomorrow I must buy cards and order gifts for DGS1's and DSiL's birthdays, go to my group meeting, and go to a church/community meeting in the evening. I'm still not sure whether I'm supposed to be standing up and addressing the meeting: it was only today that the Chair sent a summary of what we might do (not even a proper agenda. Grrrr!
Must go and practice my Italian now, before I fall asleep. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xxx8 -
Morning all. Wordle in six.
Yesterday I did quite a bit of flying in the morning - hoovered/ swept hall and living room, dusted all living room and TVs and small appliances round the house, dusting grotty bits as I went - I'm sure there was more, but maybe not. I managed to get to exercise class, met with friends, picked up some new to us furniture and played in a match last night.
Today I am going out with friends for a boat trip on the river but before I go I will walk Poppet and hopefully find time to clean and sort the furniture. I've already had to move pots and toys in the garden as scaffolding is going up today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
