................ The kids needed wees more than the car ever needed charging.

Do they take an hour to go to the loo though, each time?
Even a 15 min stop will allow for a quick top up.
Many cars charge too fast now, so you do not have enough time to has a loo visit & a coffee, unless you have zero charge when stopping...Life in the slow lane0 -
If male with a smartphone or reading material, an hour is an under estimate 🤣paul_c123 said:WellKnownSid said:

There is a follow up TV version of rage-bait "documentary" on CH5 tomorrow- "Electric Cars- Are They Safe?"I can hardly wait, I've set the recorder so I can skip the 20 minutes of relentless adverts
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science

The thing with electric is that it isn't necessary (or even desirable) to charge them to capacity when you stop. I have the e5008 and on the way back from Gatwick to South Wales, I stopped at Leigh Delamere, and charged it for 15 minutes while I used the facilities and grabbed a cold drink. The 15 mins charge got me home to my home charger with still plenty of range left.2

I've noticed a few people doing really strange things - like hooking their big-expensive super-fast-charging EV into a rapid at 85% SoC and waiting forever whereas we're in and out in our slow-charging Zoe. The Gridserve app even tells you that after the SoC reaches 80% the charging speed slows down markedlyWellKnownSid said:
