Tesla, for example, are around £165 per hour labour as well. Little chance of DIY or your local back street garage being viable.

Tesla are very expensive and restrictive, not allowing service by 3rd parties. Toyota are about £100/hour regardless of power source.

For EV's more and more independents are able to work on them as demand increases.

There again Tesla do not have any service schedule, so not restrictive at all. So as a owner, many never service them.

Restrictive in that you need to get it serviced at Tesla.

From their website it seems there's a service schedule of sorts: https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/support/vehicle-maintenance
And that the car will tell you when stuff needs done. Presumably for a lot of people that still means a trip to a service centre every year or so. With 2 or 3 at the outside (air filters).

I certainly don’t plan on getting my Tesla serviced every year.

I have found an independent Tesla specialist centre not too far from me in Reading, so will be taking my car to them if/when I need anything doing.

Not sure where these made up depreciation figures are coming from.

Range can drop off considerably over time.

After 3 years a Non Electric Kia Nero worth more than an electric no doubt with the  Electric initially costing more.

    Used 2022 Kia Niro 1.6 GDi 3 DCT Euro 6 (s/s) 5dr for sale | Thame Cars

Kia Niro 64kWh 2 SUV 5dr Electric Auto (201 bhp)

We have a lease 2023 Kia Nero Electric, not a chance would we consider buying it after 3 years, range is dropping like a stone , I suspect a 6 year old electric Nero would be good to go to the shops and back unlike it's non E equivalent. Feels like the Electric car threads always get a load of Electric car owners trying to keep their car prices up. Two years ago there were long waiting lists for electric cars .... now ?

Heavy, shreds tyres due to the weight etc .....

don't get me started on the handling, positively dangerous.
We have just bought a 2020 E-niro with 30000 miles on it. Range is still 250 miles plus.
Think something is wrong with yours mate.
We have replaced a Suzuki Swift with the E-niro and it is saving us a lot of money.
We aren't even on a EV tariff.

Like you my 2021 E-Niro is still increasing in range. Last charge gave 324 miles at 100%, best before 314 miles, worst over winter 290 miles & I do get that range.

Sadly many people forget that ICE act just the same when you have a heavy foot as it appears the other poster must have. Knowing how many 100K+ are out there & still giving range as per WLTP figures.
As to tyres, you have to laugh. If they are shredding tyres, then that confirms that they have a lead foot. As between services & 6K miles. tyres lost 1 m/m in tread depth. So at that rate I'm heading for 24K & still not hit legal limit.

Does it actually achieve it though ?

    Hateful vehicle for the money.

Having had the HEV version, if you can home charge E-Niro is far cheaper to run. If you can't then fill your boots not a bad car in top spec.
