Shall I do July?6

Thank you for having me in your turtle gang in June. I am still a work in progress with NSD but pay day came round with a much higher balance left over in my account. Im so much more accountable and question spends which I would have previously justified. So pleased!7

Yes please @grandmanerdPayday tomorrow and I still have an excess in the budget - but only because it was my birthday though. The freezer is very empty, a vast snowy wasteland of nothingness. The fridge is full of carrots and lettuce and leeks, nothing else, just those things. My hungry ghosts have eaten everything else, so I refused to buy any more until I go shopping - usually on Mondays, so, well, tough really! there was enough food in there to do the week, they just chose to pig out and eat it all. I have lost 8lbs this month as well. Very happy with that.I did one tip run this weekend. I have another load of recycling/charity shop stuff in the boot of my car. My car boot is full. I have two large pieces of furniture I can be rid of - a drawers chest and a double headboard.Tomorrow the building control chap is coming to look at, and hopefully sign off on the work that was done last year. I think there will need to be a few tweaks but nothing major. It is a massive thing hanging over me. Tomorrow I will know more. I will be informed by July!Because I removed the drawers chest from the kitchen, I got to move the fridge (woo hoo!) and the tv, and the microwave, and cleaned down all the shelves, and got rid of that flippin' jar of preserved lemons (why DH?!! why???) that has been looking at me for 18 months, and jars and bottles with one spoonful of what-ever-it-was lurking around the place. All rinsed and recycled. Feel much better for it, even though I hate cleaning. It needed doing, I am not 1/10th of the way through but I have made a start and I can see progress. If I don't get time tomorrow, thank you for this month, and see you on the other side.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Great news @Rowan9, keep up the good work.
Belated happy birthday @f0xh0les, in case I missed it on the day! Well done on all the decluttering - weight, furniture, jars, etc

Retraced the steps yesterday, of the last walk with DS1, this time with DS3 & DH. Very windy again, but it stayed dry. Wanted to do it today, as it's the first month's anniversary of his passing. Did a quick shop, then headed home. Had 45 mins to put it away, then head back to town for a big family meal before they leave on Sunday. Dropped DS3 off at his friend's on the way home. Watched a film with DH & drank some of DS's favourite wine.
My brother & family came for a visit, before they travel back south. Took a thank you card & chocs to the hotel to show our appreciation of all they're doing for us. Continued walking round the circuit & stopped by the graveyard again. DS has a lovely spot, next to a wall, with a view over the lochs to our house a mile away ❤️
Collected DS3 & his friend, had a nap, then picked some redcurrants & prepped them for the freezer.
Grateful for time in the garden, space to think after s hectic week & showing my niece & nephew our ponds & the rabbits in the field behind out houseUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

The July thread (very weird and wonderful) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6615228/nst-july/p1?new=13

I don't know what you did f0xh0les but this morning my feed is full of X - cards, decorations and how to get ready for X in July (and August) and have everything wrapped up by December 1st. Help6

X-word in July is a weird American thing dreamt up by ... erm .... idiots .. probably.I was very brave with building inspector chap. Whatever happens, and he can't see any real problems from his inspection, will happen. I will deal with it.As I had my 'big girl pants' on, I have arranged a bathroom designer to come to the house on Wednesday - the ones who peacock about a bit with Phil Spencer. It is free, they come to me, and they can advise appropriately. I can steal their ideas, or reject them, either way the bathroom is getting done.Rah!!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
