Thank you all. So sorry to hear about your friend's grandson @Chrystal. Give her s hug from me XGreat news about Mrs Builder/cleaner @grandmanerd, good to hear you're making progress with your kitchen sorting & that you might be lodger-less soon. There'll only be your own things to sort through then, not them upstairs' stuff too 😀
A bit of a tense day yesterday. Got 2 seeing jobs done. In the middle of it all, my work bestie asked if I'd seen the spiel on the JustGiving page, that DS1's bosses had set up. I was raging! Firstly they out the wrong date that he'd died, then there was a diatribe about how his mental health was overwhelming him & he'd gone to Aberdeen to clear his head, before planning to move south!!!! Then it went on to say where he took his own life. We'd told people that he'd died, but it's our business what happened! Do pleased we didn't give them the details of what he did, or that would've been included too! Messaged the boss who'd wrote it, asking for some alterations to be done. Then she came to the house & we had s long chat, where she gave us her side of things, & we said that none of it was the impression we'd got at home! She said she should have shown it to us, before posting it. Too bl**day right she should have!
Had a lovely walk & visit from an old friend, who knew us before we got married, & seen DS grow up. After she had left, DS's boss forwarded me s message from a reporter from the local paper, asking if she could sgsre the JustGiving page on their socials & write a story for their website! Thankfully the boss said she'd need to ask us for our permission. I told her no! Maybe she was being kind & trying to raise more money for the family, but I told her that whilst I understand there's not enough support for young people with mental health issues, we didn't want our son bring used to draw attention to the fact! Do folk not have any sensitivity or compassion these days?!!
Sorry folks, rant over!
Today DS3 (who'd returned last night, from his camping trip 3 days earlier than planned!), came to help me clean the house being borrowed for my visiting family. It hadn't been used for 6 months, & the amount of large cobwebs, & very long legged spiders was outstanding!
DS1's friend & his mum came to visit in the afternoon. The friend went & spent time with DS2, which was lovely, they walked to the village & back (DS has only done this 3 times in the last 2.5 years!). What made us mad, when discovered afterwards, that they'd been rummaging through DS1's stuff, looking for a journal, in case it mentioned them in it! In the process of which, they'd broken a catch off a briefcase. Had stern words with DS2, who apologised & said it wouldn't happen again.
Brought the washing in, did the dishes, updated my expenditure log & went for a long bath. I'm SO tired tonight...
Grateful for friends having my back, pulling up my big girl pants & saying no to things/standing up for myself, laughs with DS's friend's mum & that DS3 helped me clean the borrowed houseUse it up, wear it out

Blimey @Thrifty_Taylor. That’s a lot to process. Some people are just so incredibly insensitive. Love and hugs, ThriftyTApologies for my absence - again! If we still had a naughty step I'd have my name permanently on it!I have finished my manic time of marking and invigilating and am ready to face my next set of marking. This one should be 'better' to balance as I'll not be invigilating too. I get to go to Mancunia to get trained for it, so 2 whole days to myself, with no responsibilities. Yay! And the weather looks like being about 10 degrees cooler than here. I might even need to take a hoodie along! If you're in a hot part of the country, remember to drink plenty of water. And if you're in a cooler area, remember to drink it anyway! And eat your veggiesNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Thank you all for your continued support, it really means a lot.
Had a couple of sad times over the last few days, being told that the funeral parlour wouldn't need clothes for DS1, I had thought in my head, that he might not be in one piece, but had pushed it aside, trying not to think like that, but to have it confirmed, hurt. Thankful that mum gave me the blanket he'd wrapped up in, on his last visit to her. Then yesterday, to see his funeral notice in black & white, confirmed it was definitely happening...
Today, a friend from work took me to a tearoom, where I used to work. The man at the next table to us is a regular. Before I stopped working there 6 years ago, I knitted him a teacosy that said Pete's Pot on the side. Heartwarming to see that he still uses it 😍 I spoke to him before we left, lovely to see him. Went for a long walk with my friend, managed not to get cut off over the causeway this time! 😂
Whilst eating my dinner, the doorbell rang & it was a man from the local church, bringing us a card & flowers, from the church community. He said he'd met DS a few times & thought he was a lovely lad & very hardworking.
My cousin phoned to say they'd arrived on the island. I'd said I'd meet them off the boat, but must've got the time wrong! They said they'd make their own way to the borrowed house, but hot lost on the way! I went to look for them, as none had s phone signal. Thankfully they'd eventually found the house. They went to town to collect my mum, then came to visit us.
A quick tea, then took mum home & picked DS3 & friend up from the cinema.
Grateful for my cousins finding their way, a lovely walk this morning, my teacosy still in useUse it up, wear it out

Thanks @f0xh0les.
A day spent organising more things for the funeral. After the minister & his wife (also a minister) left this afternoon, I headed into town to the garage that still has my son's car. I channelled my inner bxtch & barked out my questions to him, which he answered yes to whilst rubbing his knee (he'd jumped up when I went into the office & banged his knee!). So the car is now ready to be moved to the other garage & will finally be fixed! 😀
Collected some free perfume samples & bought a book I was interested in for £2. Then went to the funeral parlour. Dropped song lists & photos off & checked about the video link & the possibility of the younger pallbearers seeing the coffin before Friday, so it's not so daunting. All good with that.
Had a quick tea, then went to take the cousins a walk, but they were already out! Knitted the gonks other foot, collected DS3 from the bus, then sewed the gonk feet in position, & watched the end of s series.
Grateful for getting things organised, not being a doormat, new perfume to tryUse it up, wear it out

My cousins' car wasn't working properly this morning, so I offered to be chauffeur/tour guide. Spent the day over the barriers. The sun came out & it was quite hot. They had tea at mum's then I drove them back to their accommodation. Breakdown man going to plug the car into a machine tomorrow. My brother arrives tomorrow, so maybe he can help them.
DS1's former boss came & spoke about the wake, memories of him, etc. All the staff are writing something to go in a scrap book, which will be lovely.
Grateful for better weather, having a nice time with the cousins, a surprise pampering present in the post from my best friend when I was a teenagerUse it up, wear it out
