Walked the dog, made brunch and unpacked the mini-greenhouse kit only to find that it needs some wood preservative on it and that's easier while it's all in pieces so I'll be doing two coats of that in the shower room over the weekend, but it does mean we can't build it today which was the plan.Went into town instead and bought a load of things that have been on my list for months but I've never had the time and energy to go searching for them. Waterproff fabric to repair a pack, a litre bottle of soy sauce, chicory stuff to replace coffee in my life because coffee is something else I've had to forgo *sob* and the real find - two pairs of comfortable leather sandals at affordable prices. So relieved I can do some serious crossing off.Better is good enough.6

Hi all
(Tiptoes back in and finds a comfy seat). I have missed you all. Work has been insane, it has totally consumed my life for the last few weeks but most of the big stuff is done and I am now on holiday for a week. I will try very hard not to think about the paid stuff while I am off.
Flying has taken a back seat so I have spent most of today doing a catch up. It doesn't look massively different if I am honest but the laundry is up to date, the kitchen has had a proper clean, I have done a freezer inventory, the sofas have been hoovered, our bed stripped and the LR dusted. Oh and I also made chicken pie for tea.
DH has a job interview on Thursday, it will hit him hard if he doesn't get it, his confidence has taken such a battering. Job hunting in your 50s with tons of experience but no up to date qualifications is proving very tough.
Sorry to hear your news Valli x7 -
Welcome back, YL - enjoy your holiday week, and good luck to your DH for Thursday xx
Lucky you, HB, finding nice sandals at a sensible price xkazwookie said:Played with cats
After FUPA 3 loads of laundry that had dried on the line yesterday and printing out some of the paperwork for our holiday, I did a major admin job this morning and then took Rosie out for a walk before lunch while it was still dry. As the rainclouds gathered, my shoulder made darned sure that I knew what was coming, so instead of going out into the garden to pot up more bedding plants, I spent what was left of the afternoon curled up under a blanket on the sofa.
Tomorrow I need to pick up an order from a shop at M€rryh€11 (they rang me yesterday afternoon to say that it has arrived) but I've lost the receipt on which the assistant had carefully written the order number. I am hoping they will accept my driving licence as proof of ID.

Thanks @kazwookieI knew there was something I'd forgotten. I have a few sprouted garlic to plant upNo flying for me, I'm a bit sore they took 3 more polyps this time, and checked the old site thoroughly so just got to wait for the lab results to confirm but they didn't see anything obvious. I'm going to do as I'm told and rest up. Just going to have a quick tidy up in the kitchen and bed I think.7
