Hi everyone,
I have read through the newbies thread and understood most of the process but not everything so please bear with me I can understand how frustrating it can be people putting up threads to answers or presidents already given. I'm hoping for some assistance with the claim form.
I am currently writing up a defence against G24 / DCB Legal.
- Claim Form (Civil National Business Centre) issue date 24th April 25
- DCB Legal representing G24 LTD
In the defendant box it is left blank.
Partics of claim is I'm pursued for £170 now which with interest and everything else is £340.36
In 23/05/2019 I'm accused of overstaying the contracted time on a vehicle I have sold long time ago, but I had the receipt of something I bought when I was using that car park and believe I was well under the 3hr time but thats hearsay at this point I guess. They have said they sent letters to my address (which I moved out of I think in 2020) but at the point I had no correspondence from anyone and haven't been at that old address to receive anything, I was staying with family at that time but never registered at the address, although my v5 was and still is as I don't live in a house since then as I moved abroad so any letters that wasn't important probably just got thrown or sent back.
Now I received the Claim Form from DCB so I logged online and filled in the 'if you admit only to part of the claim' then during that process thats as far as I got as I thought I would be able to select 'old address' or something which is not the case. My thought process was that I could just pay the original fee but I think that is too late.
I'm not sure about dates at this point, some say 14 days and then I read online it's 28days but I'm at a loss to what I should do now. Anyone could point me into any direction or which thread I need to re read to what to do?

Post the issue date from the claim form
Ideally, post a redacted picture of it, same as linked in the following thread

Adapt the relevant defence template from the advice in the defence template thread
As long as you have done the AOS online on MCOL correctly, your deadline is 33 days after the issue date1 -

Do nothing else on MCOL, logout and follow the advice in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum
MCOL is only useful from this point onwards for checking the progress of the claim, same as checking your bank account to see what transactions have taken place
Your defence deadline is the 27th3 -
Why are trying to admit part of the claim? Don't be doing that.
Defend the whole amount using the default template. You probably won't be able to remember much about the day because it's years ago. So for paragraph 3 just say it's too long ago to recall specifics but that you don't recall breaching any parking contract.
99% chance they'll discontinue. So many of these ancient claims from G24 that they themselves won't have any evidence from 6 years ago.4 -

Yes you're right I think that is good advice. Thank you so much for the simple directions and not biting my head off too, I see there are so many threads but navigating just takes some patience.
I've gone and found, read and adjusted the defence template which I believe is the correct one, and attached is my response on section 3 in 'third person view'.
I've deleted any bold advice from template (for defendants) then signed and dated it at the bottom (which I've cropped out below) for ease of viewing.
This is how it looks atm. I've also deleted my initial response on MCOL and will now contest the whole thing once this defence has been written up. If I do not need to even write about being in contact with g24 please advise, I've looked up where the alleged PCN is and I do remember that I could not see any signage about parking as the car park was like a bomb site and I only went into that shop as I was on my way abroad to the airport (I needed something like staples or pens) and do not live in that area.

PS
I logged onto the website and I see in my AOS, that my intention is already set to 'I intend to defend part of this claim.'
I don't see an option to change this within that section, any ideas if I need to? It still says it is possible to defend the whole part at the normal log in page. when you can select 3 standard options.

Or - better - maybe email your defence first as per the first 12 steps THEN ring the CNBC to ask them to remove the AOS 'defend part' error and put an immediate bar on the case history because a defence has been emailed.
This defence para 3 is better (but obviously don't remove the specific sentence you had about living abroad):

We assume you aren't living abroad now?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do you mean from para 3 also including 3.1? I think I remember there was also a named driver (partner) also on the insurance for that vehicle so would I bother to mention that in the defence?0 -
